The Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk is only a couple of hours drive from Sydney. One Saturday we went for a family outing and agreed to enjoy the day exploring a local tourist attraction nearby. In the morning it was kind of gloomy and it looked like it was going to rain. I was so tempted to just stay in my warm and cosy bed but I reminded myself that “I would never let the weather stop me from having fun! “ . We had a nice lunch in Café 106 , their food are a bit pricey than normal. We paid AUD22.00 each to walk the famous Tree Top Walk. We hiked to the tree top walk from Café 106 for about 5-10minutes. It was so exhilarating just to be in that look out! I ... read more

Today we packed up the vans and headed north. We travelled through Ulladulla and on to Nowra. We stopped at several lookouts and saw some whales along the way. We went to Albatross Air Museum and Robert had a lovely time looking at all the planes. We then set up camp at Shoalhaven and went out to the local RSL for dinner to celebrate Robert's birthday.... read more

This morning Steve did some work on the caravan, minor repairs. In the afternoon we left Robert and Tracy to relax at the van and we went for a drive on the Forest Road to Pebbly Beach. The road was dirt but the car handled it well. The drive through the National Park and back to the van took about 4hours. There had been a fire in the National Park and quite a lot of the bush had been burnt. In the evening we had lots of possums visiting us. They seemed to be attracted to Robert and tried to jump onto his lap while we were eating dinner. It was hilarious! The possums then started climbing up the van poles and running along the canvas and the roof. Poor Robert and Tracy were woken up ... read more

Today Robert, Tracy, Steve and I went for a drive down the south coast. We had a lovely day. We drove South to Batemans Bay, and then took the Tourist Drive, travelling through places such as Mossy Point, Moruya, Tuross Heads and Narooma. We had lunch and a lovely walk at Narooma. We also stopped at the lookout at Tuross. After lunch we drove down as far as Mystery Bay before heading back to Merry Beach. ... read more

Today we went for a lovely walk up to the headland. We were lucky enough to see a few whales today. The van park is huge, it is on several acres and there are a lot of vans at the back of the caravan park where it backs onto the National Park. Steve and I collected some firewood as we thought it would be nice to light a fire after dinner tonight. Our friends Robert and Tracy joined us later today and set up their van alongside ours at the beachfront.... read more

Today we decided to spend the day at Bermagui. It was nice to have a day when we weren't travelling. We walked into Town and hired a kayak and did a 21/2 hour paddle up the river. It was very cold and windy but it was a lot of fun - once we got ourselves co-ordinated with the paddling. LOL. We then went back to the van and had lunch and a walk followed by dinner at the local RSL club.... read more

We had a lovely trip along the Monaro Highway and down to the South East Coast. We travelled through some lovely country towns and stopped for lunch at Nimitabel and purchased some lovely homemade jam and lemon spread. It was very windy travelling down Browns Mountain and we called into Pipers lookout to admire the views. We drove through Bega and then headed North to Bermagui. We stayed at the Zane Grey Caravan Park. I would recommend this park. It is in a beautiful position and we had views of the water from our caravan. We stayed here for 3 nights. ... read more
