MORE PHOTOS TO COME. THIS COMPUTER IS REALLY SLOW A really bad nights sleep because of the freezing cold was followed by a cold morning in the Blue Mountains. The walk to the abseiling centre didnt take long, then pretty much went straight to the moutains! Ian and Kam got us harnessed up, they quickly went through it all and off we went! ok, so it was only a 4 metre high rock but it was still new to me! we then practiced on a 20 meter cliff, then on the 30 meter cliff i managed to go upside down. Don't really know what happened there, it was just as i went off the top my legs seemed to give way! i didnt panick!! well...maybe a little. The harness hurt so much, i have bad bruises ... read more

Me and Tom rushed to get ready for the bus at 8.10am to go to the Blue Mountains. They are called this because the vapour off all the eucalyptus trees make it look blue. We went to a volcanic crater and walked up to Euroca, saw more kangeroos. Wentworth falls was next, brilliant veiws and a couple of nice water falls. One of which Charles Darwin had walked through. Lunch was in a pretty little village called Leura, which is famous for its gardens. Echo point was an amazing view, especially of The 3 sisters. We then walked down 1000 steps at scienic world. In the rocks is a face, quite scary. The aboriginals have a story about this rock and the 3 sisters. wont bore u with it now. We went back up on the ... read more

OI OI OI Hello all from OZ The day starts at about 3 am… with us freezing lol it was cold. Jason got up and fired up the furnace, which made things better. Wes crawled into bed with us as he got cold. The furnace works nice, but makes a bit of noise. The day part 2 starts around 7:30 we get up, and are a little more organized than yesterday. Breakfast is made and everyone gets showered. Today our destination is the Jenolan caves, apparently they’re very nice. I’m not sure what it is with us, but wherever we go we’re into some sort of cave. Carlsbad, NM, Maui, HI, even the caves up in Collingwood… we’ve been to them all; I wonder if Fiji will have some lol. Anyhow, the drive to the caves ... read more

We get a fairly early rise today, it sure was cool last night, and we didn’t have the heater on, but should have, at 2 o’clock in the morning it was too much fiddling to start it up. Jason makes breakfast for everyone (not quite the same as we’re used to, but ok for camping - it’ll get better.) We decide to use the park’s facilities for their showers, and they’re pretty good! The water is much better here than Sydney, as it turns out I’m having a pretty good hair day. We all get showered and set for the day. First stop Scenic World. This is I guess Australia’s version of the Grand Canyon. Not quite as spectacular, but pretty cool. We take a cable car across a small canyon that has a clear glass ... read more

Today we're leaving Sydney via a 22' motorhome. We're headed towards the blue mountains to do some caving. Driving on the left hand side should prove interesting. Not sure when we'll have internet available again, but more text and photo's to come! TTYL Lee... read more

This is our final day in Sydney, although there have been some very cool sites, and we’ve had a lot of fun we’re really looking forward to getting in the RV and doing some exploring. Our day started off by going down to the rocks area (again - this is a real nice part of town, with lots of good cafe’s and interesting shops.) We explored the Saturday market which sold lots of locally crafted items and trinkets; it was an outdoor covered flea market. We stopped at a local café which setup shop outside and cooked food to order. Really excellent and cheap breakfast, I would have definitely gone back here again. Nice view also, just a couple hundred feet from the waters edge, overlooking the opera house. After breakfast we went back to our ... read more

Hi All, Time for the next installment! It's been a little while coming because we have been back in Sydney for a while so the pace of our adventure has slowed down. The high point has definitely been a trip to the Blue Mountains (just west of Sydney). They are spectacular - massive steep mountains and waterfalls shrouded in rainforest and mist (it's blue as it rises from the Eucalyptus trees which is where they get their name). We climbed down a steep forest path near the Three Sisters (a rock formation for those of you who haven't been) then walked along the rainforest base before getting the steepest train in the world back up the cliff face - incredible views! We also went to the Jenolan Caves and had our own private tour (it is ... read more

The blue mountains are just out of Sydney and we went for a day trip there. Sorry the pictures aren't that great because it was a little cloudy. The reason they are called the Blue Mountains are because the blue eucalyptus trees tint the mist blue, its far prettier in person. We went hiking and saw a bunch of beautiful waterfalls and cliffs. The main attraction in the blue mountains is the Three Sisters. The Aboriginal story behind them is that there were tribes, one of which had three beautiful sisters, and the other with three brothers who had their eye on them. A war broke out and the shaman of the sister's tribe turned them into stone to protect them, but died in battle, so they remained that way forever. ... read more

Our bags were packed and our adventure is due to start as we bus ourselves up the east coast. Before we left Sydney it had been our plan to see the Blue Mountains which we had heard were extremely beautiful and well worth the 2 hour train journey. Matt booked us into a hostel... oh no sorry, booked us into some tents on hostel grounds, why not eh?! We had set off relativley early but had to do annoying house things like tidying and handing keys back in Bondi Junction to the TFPG, a frustrating and out of the way de-tour. Anyway we eventually got ourselves onto the train which was a huge double decker train and very comfortable. We arrived into the Katoomba station in the Blue Mountains area and checked into our tents. The ... read more
