A few weeks ago while my petit cousin Jean-Frederic was with me inspecting our micro-mini vineyard, he asked me ... "Do you know why the vines weep when you prune them?" I told him "Sure it's because of the sap flowing from the cut". He told me "No, in France we say that it is actually the vine crying thinking of the debt that it owes the vigneron". I liked that! Right now our vines have just burst into life. We have just planted this summers vegetable crop, including tomatoes (Grosse Lisse and Cherry Toms), zuccini, rocket, beans, celery and spinach. Yum ... the vege harvest will start in about 6 to 8 weeks ... fingers crossed. Soon it will be time to think of some new and exciting pickles and relish recipes and other ideas
