Good Morning Everyone! It seems like I am always a day behind lately and that is just fine with me. That is what life is like down here in Destin. There is no rush. You find yourself talking things more slowly (even your talk becomes slower.....kinda a strange mix of Rhode Island and southern accent...whoah). At 6:15am I looked outside and saw the sun rising and about 20 fishing boats in the distance. I noticed them all coming closer toward the beach. It was an odd, cool sight. April and I think there were dolphins out there. She swore she saw one in the water below. This wouldn't be surprising. Destin has a large concentration of dolphins. There are dolphin sightseeing tours galore around here, however, who needs a tour when the resort you're staying at ... read more

mbaade visa update: I GOT IT! We went to NYC today. Took the 7:25 train to Philly, met abeyta, got bfast, caught the 8:30 Chinatown bus, made it to the consulate by 11:00ish. Finally got through the massive wait line and dropped it off around 2:00ish. Central park for a bit. Listened to a guy playing the sax for quite a while and then went to take a nap in the sun. Woke up at 4:30, just in time to go get my finished visa. Got it. Subway back to Chinatown. Caught the 6:00 bus back to Philly, had dinner in Chinatown, brought the 8:40 SEPTA to BMC, went to Eckard and Starbucks and back out to Brecon to pack and do laundry and whatnot. Now it's 1:30am and I just got to the yearbook office. ... read more

"We won't know how good we were as parents until our grandchildren are raised." --John Bradshaw After a futile attempt to sleep in the van, we found a place that was serving breakfast, and had an early, early breakfast. Our next stop was an RV park for a shower and a cleanup session. Then we were off to Death Valley. When we were young, we can remember watching Death Valley Days and the good old 20-mule-team Boraxo wagon train. Those are great stories. We stopped at the National Park Service Visitor Center and we chatted with some of the rangers. One of them said it was one of the nicest days of the year that he could remember. We left Death Valley and continued to the town of Pahrump and settled in at a motel. ... read more
