We endured multiple rainstorms and flooding throughout the area while camping Memorial Day Weekend at this park. It's a very nice State Park even given all of the tremendous storms and showers. The park was complete with RV & Tent sites, camp stores, boat ramps, showers/bathrooms, and the biggest lake I've seen thus far in Texas. :-) We were going to stay the whole weekend, but flooding by our tent site prevented us from staying any longer. We caught numerous perch from the lake, and we were warned that alligators were present in the lower lying bank areas, and farther away from most areas where the campers were. Camping with the Twins on Lake Livingston We met mom and dad in Brenham, and picked up Chris and Ben Thursday night so we could load the truck and head out to Lake Livingston State Park Friday morning. With the threat of rain, we tried to plan options so we could avoid setting up or taking down the campsite in the rain. We had everything ready Thursday night, and Friday morning we did get on the road about 10:15. Rain was a big threat, so we packed the truck so rain would not get clothes, food, etc. wet.
