Obfuscator writes: We actually saw things on Monday, and so naturally I'm keen on writing its entry. Onaxthiel spends a lot of words bemoaning this arrangement, but since he prefers to be behind the wheel, I can only assume he approves of it. Lake Erie State Park was rather pretty, but aside from the wonder showers, didn't have anything to keep us there for long. The friendly park ranger person waived the park fees for us though, so we didn't pay New York anything for our stay. That's not something I'll complain about. We began the drive toward Buffalo and Niagara Falls, picking a route that took us on back highways to avoid the tollways. On our way, we found Dunkirk, which we were disappointed to find contained not even one memorial to the famous seaborne ... read more

Today was a bad day for the cyclers to begin, the heavens opened and it pissed it down for hours from about 11am. The boys left at 7am so they got a few hours in before it began but after that it was even hard driving. They even had fruit - hurray - so I stocked up on vitamins and pocketed some for later. Of course this was all accompanied by several ... read more

I recieved a comment from someone who is traveling to Ghana in January. Here are some tips and places to go; as good as I can come up with right now. January - February is supposed to be there very dry season, so expect it to be VERY HOT and dry for that matter. The places that I visited we were on a very tight budget to, but its very easy to get around without a problem, In my journal that I currently don't have with me I have the actual places we stayed in, for each place we went to. Keep in touch I'll can get them for you. I highly reccommend a digital camera because you can just snap away, I brought a 70's completely manual 35mm Olympus with me and only shot 3 ... read more

20,000 miles, 25 days, 10 flights, 6 cities, 2 countries, many new friends and even more amazing experiences...... Thailand is a wonderful country, and I urge anyone even considering traveling to Southeast Asia to spend as much time as possible there. I already miss the: Food Culture Land Climate Cost Language Religion I returned home last night and have already gotten a huge dose of "real life" again (and cold and dry weather). I'm completely shell shocked and it may take me a few days to feel normal again. Thank you all for following me on my travels.... I hope you have enjoyed my pictures and stories... Take care everyone. ... read more

Spent a large chunk of the day copying music from my 2 computers onto my mp3 player... and I finally just got my bag packed and weighed. All my stuff only weighs 26 lbs... and I'm pretty happy with that number. My flight leaves at 6pm, but I still don't feel like i'm actually going anywhere... not sure when it will actually hit me? Today I got a little nervous about the trip for the first time really... Next time I write i'll be on the other side of the world... till then. ... read more

My departure is set for just a few days from now. On October 6th to be exact. See attached map for the first leg of the trip....After 24 hrs of traveling I'll arrive on Saturday the 8th in Hong Kong on a red eye flight. You could say i'm excited, but that would be an understatement.. Been getting all my stuff together in the house.... Jess managed to take a picture of me trying on my one of my cool recent purchases- a 97 cent mosquito head net! She's going to be taking care of the pooch, fish and coral while I'm gone on my travels. Thanks Jess, you're the best! So I'm stocked with all of the usual stuff for my trip plus a full pharmacy of medications to help me ease pain, sleep, breath, ... read more
