Well, its not most people's 1st vacation choice but its where I went to college and have a lot of fond memories. The misuses and I are crashing over our dearest friends where we hang out, commune, and do some leisure sight seeing. Rochester is actually a descent place to spend a weekend. Its not really known for its down town nightlife but it does have many suburb neighborhoods with their own attractions & night life. The city hosts 3-4 colleges , which incurs an intellectual as well as an international community. RIT (my Alma Mater) hosts the National Institute for the Deaf, yet another community of honorable mention. The City & School owes its life to George Eastman, the philanthropist founder of Eastman Kodak. Events & Attractions: *A renovated High Falls - Clubs & Dining ... read more

August 15 I was able to go to Rochester for a friends wedding. A bonus was to be able to stay with Brad and Mel and play with the kids for a few days. Riley is into Peter Pan and like to turn the couch into his pirate ship. Naomi like to do whatever Riley does. One day they decided to comb and cut my hair.... read more

So I've started moving junk to my parents house. I guess that means that I will certainly be heading there after the trail. Hopefully I won't be staying there too long. I imagine it will be strange to go from complete independence (alone in the woods) for 6 months to living under the same roof as my family. I love my family a lot and I love to see and visit with them, but I certainly enjoy living alone. I have a ton of junk that I really don't want, but at the same time I can't bare to part with. I would prefer to move into a new place with maybe most of my kitchen stuff (because I love to cook), someplace soft to sit/sleep, and my laptop. I really feel weighted down by all ... read more

So I finally did it. I placed my 2 week notification at work and I have 10 business days left! I have a lot of packing to do! Hopefully this weekend will ease that a little bit. If I can unload a lot of my stuff in my garage sale then I won’t have so much to bring with me. I have a lot of work left to finish on the Audi that I need to get out of the way too. I guess I should have enough time to do all that needs to be done (at the moment) but time is getting short and I still want to have time to spend with all of my friends before I leave. I’ll be trying to post things more often I get ready to go, although ... read more

Okay, so I kind of let things go. Life got pretty crazy towards the end of Europe. Now it's over a year later and I'm off to Sedona, Arizona to study Shakespeare and the Sedona Shakespeare Institute. It's an intensive program that runs for about a month and everyday I'll be training from 8:30am until 10pm. In my off time I'll be exploring the other side of the country, the side I'm not so familiar with. A few goals: -since I'm in the desert, I want to find a horse, preferably a horse with no name, and ride the horse -climb Mt. Wilson -see the Grand Canyon (it's two hours away!) -get TAN I leave tomorrow morning. It's going to be a long flight. Thank God for Vallium. :)... read more

So I've decided on TravelBlog to try and update those of you that are interested in keeping track of my progress, or even just want an update or two about how things are going. Up until this point in my life I've been awful at keeping a journal or any written record of my life's experiences. This will be an attempt to change that. I'll be departing for the Appalachian Trail on the 28th of June 2008. I hope that I will have occasional access to the internet to keep you all up to date, but if I find that I can't update this personally, I'll snail mail updates to someone who can. I've got a little over a month before my departure and I'm filled with excitement and fear. I've got so much I need ... read more

Well fans, this could quite possibly be the last post of the good ol' Colorado trip. I know a lot of you are sad to see the blog go, but if you would like it to continue I strongly encourage you to donate a large sum of money so that we can go on another trip to some fun destination... So let's see here, it's our first morning back home in New York after an eventful night at the airport. We were supposed to board our plane for Philly at 8:15p, but then there was a maintenance problem that they had to take care of so we didn't board until about 9pm. Once we were on the plane, everyone was pretty excited to get going and get out of there, but it wasn't quite that simple. ... read more

Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork... After a whistle-stop trip to NYC, I successfully procured a Turkish student visa. It was a race-against-the-clock as I waited impatiently for the necessary forms from Hacettepe Üniversitesi, but in the end it makes for reading that is far less dramatic than the stress the whole process inspired, so I'll spare you the details. Many thanks to Jaime and Jason in Brooklyn and to Joe and Andrea in Queens for helping me out once again with a city that I will always love and likely never be very good at. 2007 was an emotional year filled with school, travel, weddings and funerals. For me, the year ended calmly on the roof of my dear friend Sercan's apartment building, here in the magnificent city of İstanbul. I've been here for the better part of ... read more
