Purple or Gold ?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments. We had a late start to the day as we were so tired after yesterday and had breakfast in our room being yoghurts bought from the nearby CVC Pharmacy. We decided to take the Deuce bus to South Las Vegas premium outlet centre and it was only a short walk across the strip to catch the bus. We bought the unlimited 24 hour pass which cost $8- each.
Another stinking hot sunny day around 35 degrees. I did not know what to expect at the outlet centre but I knew it wouldn’t be as good as it was when we were here for Christmas in 2010 when our currency was at parity with the USD (maybe even a little better) when we spent big here.
The first purchase was at the Nike store where I got a new golf shirt which felt so silky with a unique pattern and for a really good price (about half what you’d pay back home). The sales guy then told me if I downloaded the Nike App and joined online they would give me a further discount of 15% today only. Excellent deal so we both bought a pair
of Nike sliders as well for less than $20-. We looked around a few more shops and then had a quick break at Starbucks where we shared the Americano brew and Kerry had a toastie and I had a muffin with bacon, egg and cheese.
Next some more shopping and I bought some really cool O’Brien shorts that are super comfortable (shame they did not the navy blue in my size or I would have bought two pairs). Then I went to Tommy Hilfiger store where I had bought 4 polo shirts for $20- each back in 2010 and I still have them now (quality is that good). I grabbed a nice T-Shirt for only $8- and a pair of wireless noise cancelling earbuds that I can use on the planes for shorter flights that retailed around $110- for around half that price.
We got back to the Paris Hotel to chill for a while before getting back on the Deuce bus once more and headed down the strip to have dinner at Tom’s Urban an alfresco restaurant outside the New York, New York Hotel which has a replica of the Brooklyn Bridge. I
had a Dos Equis 22 oz for $15- plus tax (ouch !) and the Nashville Chicken Tenders with fries which was nice and spicy and tasted awesome. Kerry had some Baja Tacos. As we were having our dinner the cheer squad and marching band walked by for the Las Vegas Knights (NHL Hockey Team) who were playing a pre-season game at the adjoining T-Mobile Arena. Not quite like a college football band but impressive nonetheless.
After dinner we walked across the over-bridge to the Excalibur Hotel for the Australian BeeGees show (very dated inside decor) and found it a bit hard to find the showroom. Show started at 7.00pm and was surprisingly short show at 70 minutes, not sure why as they only played 30 second versions of several songs and left out some classics like Spicks and Specks all together ! They were super talented so we still enjoyed the show. It was inexpensive to buy these tickets so not a big deal but another half hour would have been better.
It was a balmy walk back and I was still in shock after paying $27- combined for a Corona in can and
a frozen margarita during the show which was outrageous. We walked back via Park MGM to find the tram to Bellagio (which is so impressive inside) and then back to the room where I played the soundtrack for my WIP broadway musical project called Secret Love (featuring which I started working on 10 years ago (I am tonight inspired to take this project to the next level now ). Tomorrow we have our final day in Vegas.
