We flew into Denver without problems and then took the Greyhound bus over the mountain. There was a major storm in the Rockies and we did not want mom driving the mountain passes to pick us up. We figured after all the “chicken” buses we have been on the last six months; the bus from Denver to Grand Junction would be no problem. Well….the people on this bus are much scarier than any other buses we have been on. We sat next to the two teenagers that were discussing drugs they use while their mom, who was maybe 30, sat right behind them. There were basically two types of people using the bus: the unmotivated low-life civilians and the military. It is a shame we don’t pay our military more so they can travel in a ... read more

October 21 - November 9, 2006 Billings, Mont. - near Grand Junction, Colo. 23,699 miles to date 1,315 miles this leg We were gasping for air Nov. 7, and not just because we’d spent two weeks at altitude. Who were these people who believed in Bush bravado? We wanted to meet them ... read more

We left Seattle on August 6th, only a day later than anticipated. Our condo is packed up and rented out. We were feeling terribly guilty about leaving our two darling cats, Storm and Rogue, but are happy that Kim and Cara will be there to love them. The drive to Grand Junction, CO from Seattle is 18 hours if you average 5 over the speed limit. We arrived tired and with sore bums. For the first few days we did little but relax in the pool and hang out with my nieces. Scott's mom arrived from Ontario on Thursday for a week stay. Friday we played in a golf tournament, which was a lot of fun. My team had the highest score, Scott's was middle of the pack. We began touring around on Saturday, we traveled ... read more
