L.A. Baby Sunday 12.30 pm we depart our yacht at San Remo and walk to Venice beach,the weather warm & the promenade full of life ,punks,surfers,gangbangers,esse s & families,muscle bound wanna be Arnie s pumpin it at Muscle Beach. Pommy backpackers (how can i tell because they are glowing white ) lined up straight from the airport with thier backpacks still on outside the medical marijuana office for a prescription ,basketball ,reggae,blues,funk music ALL over,the smell of fries ,dogs , and the waft of the marijuwana mmm ,we stop to watch some street hustler s doin dere thang ,they were hustling for tips with their i must say very good performance , they pulled people form the crowd and took the piss in a good way and then got some young kids out of the crowd ... read more

Start: Malibu Ziel: Venice Beach Tageskilometer: 31.5, Höchstgeschwindigkeit: 59.8, Gesamtkilometer:7'259.2. Heute spät los und unterwegs einen Kaffe mit Laugenbrötchen gegessen (mangels Alternativen). Dann etwas weiter der Küste entlang und unsere Rettung naht: Mc. Donald's. Dort können wir ins Internet um eine Unterkunft für heute Abend zu suchen. Haben keine Lust mit dem Fahrrad irgendwo in Santa Monica rumzukurven und die Motels abzuklappern... Heute haben wir ja schliesslich nur eine kurze Strecke zu fahren und wir wollen keine Unterkunft welche weit ab vom Weg liegt da wir morgen ja nur noch bis zum Los Angeles Airport fahren um dort unser Mietauto abzuholen. Geo: 33.989, -118.462We headed to Venice Beach to see the street performers and to look at the vendors. I hadnt been down in that area for almost 10 years. Lots more vendors selling junk being passed as art work. Lots of medical Marijuana shacks! Watched some men jump groups of people. We grabbed breakfast/lunch at the sidewalk cafe. The waiter stated that he had served Amy Winehouse, who had died just that morning, just over a month ago. Afterwards we headed back to the car and went to the Getty Villa.... read more

Day 1 Arrived in L.A. last night in the dark, and the incoming views on the plane where fab. Staying on the beach in Venice Beach, took a trip to the rooftop bar last night and again this morning and the contrasting views are awesome. Here unitl 10am tomorrow morning so a stroll along the beach for breakfast this morning then Santa Monica pier this afternoon and hopefully the Hollywood walk of fame and dinner downtown later.... read more
