This is a picture of the botanical gardens that were across the road from our RV park on Stone Island. This is the entrance way. I am sorry it has been two months since my last post. Even when you are on vacation life gets in the way.....we are in a beautiful spot on the ocean in Bodega Bay, California. We have been here since Tuesday, March 16th. It is a beautiful spot near the California coast. Jason, our son and his girlfriend Jenny are coming to meet us here on Friday for the weekend. Then we have to head towards home.....
It has been an incredible trip...it is amazing how fast the months go by. The weather has been so great all the way from Mazatlan. The pictures I posted are a collection of the last month on Stone Island and our trip home so far. People always ask "what do you do all day?" Well....some days we just pick up our books and read...other days we are busy going to town, or exploring the area. When we were on the Island, we went over to Mazatlan at least twice a week. But it is different when you are traveling. You come into a place and park the 5th wheel and then you can either sit and read or go and explore. The trip

Inside the gardens from Mazatlan was horrible. The potholes in the roads were dangerous. Since we have been gone we have heard of people leaving and blowing tires and damaging their rigs. But we made it through without too many problems. The first night we stayed in the infamous "chicken ranch"...which really isn't a ranch for chickens...if your remember the first blog of our trip coming down in Mexico, we stayed at the same RV park. It is really a awful place, but it is safe (there is a guy who sleeps in his van on the property)....anyway it is the only place to stay in Los Mochis. The second night we stayed in San Carlos, which happens to be the first place we came to stay in Mexico. that was in 1994. Gerry sold his first painting there at the gallery. We stopped in to see the owners of the gallery, but the husband, Burke Rutherford had died in February. But his wife Pilar was there and she remembered Gerry and his work. She actually said there was one painting that they decided to keep (they bought 3 paintings from Gerry and they were going to resale them) but they kept one.
Pilar said they loved it so much they just couldn't sell it. What an honor that is. She is a wonderful person and she hopes we come back next year to see her.
We have had a good trip home so far. We stayed in Tucson 3 days so we could look around and get some things done that we had to have done. It has changed so much since the last time we were there (1994) but it was good to see it anyway. Then onto Quartzsite for a few days in the desert. The weather was so good and we enjoyed just hanging out there. Gerry wanted to see someone to help him with our solar panels, which he did find someone and it really helped. Then we headed into Las Vegas for a couple of days. Had a chance to see Paul and Beryl and have a wonderful dinner and visit with them. Thanks again guys. After Vegas we went to Carson City....I was the one who wanted to go, but I was disappointed. I thought that city was kind of like an old cowboy town with old buildings and stuff, but it isn't. We stayed

This is a picture of the guy who always came by the beach everyday in front of the RV park. I will miss that. one night and then headed to South Tahoe. We didn't realize our RV park in Bodega Bay, California was so close so we just called them and came early........so here we are. Looking forward to seeing Jason and Jenny. My next posting will be from home......March 31st is our goal to get there. Until then.......
