We went exploring and found this place that had wild goats all over the hill.
Well we have been here a week as of today. The weather is changing slightly, so it isn't as hot and the humidity is getting less. We have done quite a bit this week. We did some exploring to another part of the island. We went to a parade, we went over on the panga twice to Mazatlan, we shopped in the big stores (Sam's Club, Mega, Walmart) saw a schooner come into port. Did my laundry by hand and hung it out on a drying rack. Found lots of treasures on the beach. Went to a doctor (for Gerry...he has Montezuma's revenge ). The doctor checked him over and gave him a prescription for some antibiotics and the total including medication was 922 pecos, which is approximately $90 Canadian. If we were in the US it would have cost us a lot more. It was the medication that cost the most. The doctor only charged us less than $30 dollars. But the medication is working. He is almost back to his old self. We are going to a happy hour tonight so we will see how he is after. Other than the doctor, we have been so relaxed and are

enjoying ourselves so much. We talked to Clay and Gillian and Cole and Genevieve last night on Skype. It works really well here in our spot. It was great to talk to them. I also called with skype to Jeff and Sonya's home phone with skype credit that I bought and talked to Sonya and Kayla because it is her birthday today. It was so good to hear from home. We hope to hook up with Jason soon too. Everyone here on the island is so friendly and they excuse us when we goof up on a spanish word. Everyone says good morning or good afternoon to us as we drive or walk by. Everyone is so family oriented and you see people with their kids all the time. It really is refreshing. Yes there is a lot of poverty here but there really is a beauty also. The Mexican people are very hard working and they are of course happy when the 'gringos" come to stay.......Well that is about it for our first week here.

It was 100 year birthday for the Island on Saturday. They had this great parade of children dressed up and the school bands and it was great.

We went for breakfast on Sunday morning. Gerry wasn't feeling too good so we stayed home from going to church. So some of the rv people went to this restaurant for breakfast so we went. 60 pesos for a huge meal and drinks.

It was fun. The coconut drink though wasn't all that good. It was just coconut water and it wasn't very cold so I didn't drink all of it.

This is the waiters preparing the coconut for the drink. They just hack it with a machete and poke a hole in it and put a straw in and there you go....

Had to close with this sunset, as there is a tall ship in the background that came in and when it is dark it all lights up. What a gorgeous night this was.
