¡¡¡o0ºo0ºo0oºolasssss!!! (translation: hola or hello hahaha), How is everyone? I hope good! Sorry I haven't written in awhile. I've been busy! heheheheh Well I will catch you up now. New Family I changed host families. I didn't want to but its a rule. Fortunately, I have a really nice new host family. Yesterday I completed one month with them. The beginning was a little difficult because the first girl who was there was still there for like a week. It is just akward when you are trying to get to know the family and she is there still calling the mamá y papí. It was only a week though so it wasn't too bad. My new parents are Lupita and Raúl. Lupita works in a government office and Raul is a college teacher. They are so ... read more

notes from the road -Danny Lopez + illegal tequila= four liters of fun -sayulita is super mellow, no real night life besides going out for a couple of beers and watching the ocean, not that i´m complaining, we have settled in and spend our days surfing, reading, and playing cards, guitar and bocce ball. -Tony a guy from Weed California says, its hard to find weed in Weed. -fish tacos are amazing until you eat so many that you get sick in the middle of the night then the thought of fish is out of the question for the next couple days. -mustaches are in bad vibes are out -the town of tequila is as fun as it sounds, kinda like Regina. Adam Hola Amigos, Everything is going just Dandy on the road. We made it ... read more

We just got back from a week in Sayulita, Mexico. Sayulita is a wonderfully relaxing little town. There are some beautiful beaches and rain forests to be seen. Do not expect any American luxeries or even English to be easily understood. This is a Mexican town where the locals go to on vacation. No resorts & no McDonalds! Which means we absolutely loved it!!! Just be ready to be awaken every morning by what sounds like thousands of roosters crowing... ;) There are some wonderful artists in this town, although most of them are North Americans who have studios in Sayulita during the tourist season. I would also highly recommend the road kill chicken (our own nickname) and the croissants from the bread truck (10 pesos each)! The road kill chicken (7 pesos for a whole ... read more

Queridos Amigos, I hope everyones New Year went well. Mine was fun. I have been really busy so please forgive me for not writing. I will catch you up now though. It is almost a week though so it could get long. Jueves (Thursday) - My 5 Month Anniversary Well, the morning I spent in the house being bored. I was suppose to go to the movies with a bunch of my friends, but none of them could so I went by myself. It was actually really nice. I saw Una Noche en el Museo, also known as One Night in the Museum. It was a really cute movie. If you are ever bored on a rainy day it is a nice thing to go see. Then I walked around the mall. I bought myself a ... read more

Jan 3rd-Jan 16th Cristiano and I spent two weeks traveling up and down a 200km piece of the Pacific coast of Mexico. We spent 2 days in a small surfing town called Sayulita, 2 nights in Puerto Vallarta, 2 nights in a resort called El Carayes and a week in another small town called La Manzanilla with my dad, step-mom and my little brother and sister. We had a great time! Our car broke down twice which was the only bummer about the trip but it also added some adventure. I have attached some photos from our trip. Enjoy! We leave for Brazil on Monday. Will update ASAP. Liz and Cristiano... read more

One year (and a couple weeks) ago today, Lindsay and I returned from our travels through Asia, a 4 month trip we called the “reunion tour” following years of living, working and studying in opposite ends of Canada. After the reunion tour we once again went our separate ways; Vancouver and Calgary. New cities, jobs and people all made time pass very quickly. Now, a year later we’ve reunited again, but decided to leave the backpacks and malaria drugs at home, instead opting for a vacation that could be “agreeable for the whole family”. Before leaving we are asked if we have plans to resurrect the travel blog. We hadn’t, but we realized we couldn’t let you, our faithful readers, down. But given we were headed to a resort area in Mexico we realized we would ... read more

¡Hola Todos! How is everyone? I hope all is well. I went to a very fun party last night. It was my classmate Pepe’s birthday. I spent the day at home but it was pretty cool. My cousins from San Francisco came over for lunch. They are going back home, which is kinda sad because I had fun with the little girl Natalie. So I spent the rest of the afternoon getting ready for the party. The end result was pretty good. The party was at 7 and like a half-hour away, but I didn’t leave until 7 so I was late. I was still the first person there though. We ate, drank, talked, and listened to music. I actually made a lot of new friends. They were really nice. They even invited me to spend ... read more

Hola Queridos Amigos I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Just so everyone knows, this is definitely the hardest part of being an exchange student! The homesickness is almost unbearable. But once you make it through you realize that you actually are getting a really great blessing. Like my family said, I am seeing and experiencing things you guys can't even imagine. You realize you can make it through the rest of the year. In fact two more days and I will hit the 5 month mark. That means I have 5 and 1/2 months left. I am almost halfway done. I want you to all know how much I missed you. You were in my thoughts, my heart, and my prayers. I love you all SO much. You don't realize what you have until you ... read more
