Well our last day in Mexico and a great one at that. We visited the Mayan ruin site of Pelenque and spent hours wandering around, reinacting invasions, trying to figure out what ballcourt was, and imagining the "queens bath" with the nude mayan queen bathing in it. There was lots of walking up and down and all around the site, plus the museum. It was an odd day because we all had bizzare budgets. We wanted to spend all the rest of our pesos, so for Ryan and I it meant we couldnt eat, and for Jord it meant he had to find a way to spend all the money without killing himself with food and drink. Plus we didnt know what the ticket to Flores would cost so we didnt know how much we had ... read more

Well we arrived in Pelenque yesterday evening, but we spent about a whole 5 minutes at the bus station there. As it turned out we headed out of town to this jungle area where there are cheap cabanas and food. Found a little hut thing with three beds for 50 pesos a night, works out great because I have a snore zone downstairs and Jord/Ry have the upstairs. Jord lost his sleeping bag cover, hes down two items already, I dont know why Im bringing this up but Im hoping people will laugh at him because I did already. At least his pack is getting lighter. Ryan shaved his moustache as well, really dissapointing. So were sitting on our little patio last night when Mike the English guy strolls up, said he knew hed find us ... read more

Well today was quite a day! I´m going to post as many pictures as I can seeing as how we did some really cool stuff and I caught a lot of it with my camera. I woke up at 6am because of someone snoring in the room, which just isn´t cool at all because I´m supposed to be the one keeping everyone awake, not the other way around. Regardless, the snoring and the farting from 8 hungover guys in a hostel room was very disturbing to say the least, and the orchestra of sounds from each bed along with the fireworks starting at sunrise forced me up. Wasn´t as cold as usual so that was good, I sat in a trance on the couch until the others woke up shortly after, we had agreed to some ... read more

Well our halloween day in San Cristobal was fairly uneventful, Ryan and some hippies went to this herb museum that got two thumbs down from Jord and I, but he came back with a chap from London who joined us for dinner who is really nice. We found some sandwich things and then headed to one of the town squares to check out the festivities. We found a big band and then some kids all dressed up doing some drumming and dancing and chanting. We walked around a bit more and found this American guy who was in our hostel but hadn´t talked to and we all bought some beer. One beer turned into a few and we headed out to the town square to see some more performances. Watched some dancing on stage and an ... read more

Well we arrived in San Cristobal early this morning, the bus stopped a lot on the way there so the trip was about 13 hours in total. For some reason when they took a 5 minute break at some point around 1am I didn´t bother to get up and stretch my legs so a few hours later my left foot went numb. That sucked. Took off my shoe and attempted to massage the foot back to health -no luck. The good thing about stopping a lot is that people get off, so Ryan finally left my side for two seats of his own and I could stretch out my legs. Woke up again around dawn to see some awesome mountains and only about 20 minutes from San Cristobal. We got off the bus and it was ... read more

Well I´m still actually in Puerto Escondido, the last few days were spent doing.... prettymuch nothing. Pool sitting, pool swimming, ocean sitting, ocean swimming, a bottle of rum, chairs, books, pizza´s exploring the town etc. etc. It´s a great town I´d say it´s a mix of Sayulita and Puerto Vallarta crossed... We´re prettysure someone died in the room next to us because of the noises we heard all day yesterday, and Jord started getting malaria dreams already after ¨seeing¨ figures go into our bathroom last night and woke up Ryan. We also had an earthquake or something the other day so that was odd. We woke up today to head to San Cristobal but our bus doesn´t leave until dinner time. Gonna kill the day around town so I figured while I was checking out some ... read more

Well, thanks for the support all of you who commented on my blog. Glad to know the last one was such a hit, not sure that this one will compete, but at least you´ll know what´s going on with me. I see that there has been a request to add photos, I will attempt to bring some up from snapfish, or maybe, if I can find an internet cafe with a usb port (sometimes supprisingly hard to find), then I will bring some up right off my camera. As it is I need to upload them before cuba, cuz I´m running out of space. So, where to begin. I said goodbye to my family, they were so nice, they gave me a present! how sweet, I only stayed with them for two weeks. Chiapas was nice, ... read more

Jul 22 - Am I on the wrong path? Tuxtla Gtz, Chiapas, México 23:00 "You are loosing your life, young boy. You only have two choices. Are you son of God or son of Satan. There is no road between. You can only be son of God through Christ." "Remember this evening. If you do not accept today the Christ into your heart as your saviour, who suffered and died on the cross for your sins, there is no rescue for you." "He is the truth. When you accept him, you will not need to search for other things." "Fine, what message do you carry, traveler?" finaly one of them started a dialogue with me, but I didn't answer. "Young boy, what is your message? What exactly can you say to the World?" I said with ... read more

Jul 20 - Accepted to the community La Realidad, Chiapas, México 2:00 I woke up too late and missed the last truck to the village. I went to the guy in charge (he was different than yesterday), explained him my situation and he asked me if I have any proove of who I am. I showed him an artical about me in a known Mexican newspaper and after the consultation with the community, he let me stay as long as I want. Today I spoke with many people and my admiration and respect to these warriors is bigger and bigger. I want to come back one day to spend a few months with them. I want to work with them on the fields, sleep in their houses and teach their children English and Math. But now ... read more
