English version follows. Jours 6-7-8 Jour 6 - vendredi, le 5 juillet 2013 Une belle journée pour voyager. Il fait beau et chaud (28 C). Je n'ai pas fait beaucoup de kilométrage, mais je fais une journée à la fois.
J'ai remarqué, lors de mon passage à Sudbury que la présence du français est très marquée dans ce coin de pays. Je n'ai pas entendu de personnes parler la langue mais on retrouve plusieurs postes français à la télévision et à la radio. Les panneaux de signalisation sont aussi bilingues. Ça frappe ! Sur la route 17 Ouest, beaucoup de boisés et de lacs. C'est bien beau !
Non loin de Sault Sainte Marie, j'ai eu la chance de faire quelques photos de fermiers qui faisaient les foins. Je dirais bien que ce sont le père et le fils, possiblement des Amish. Puis, j'ai vu un champ de canola (en faisant un petit détour pour trouver un marché qui n'en était pas un). Là, j'ai parlé à un fermier et sa femme qui passaient en camionnette. L'homme portait des salopettes et un chien était bien assis sur la banquette avant, entre les deux. Le fermier
m'a dit que cette année ne fut pas bonne pour le canola. Pas assez chaud! Euh, c'est pas le cas aujourd'hui, en tout cas. 😊
Je suis arrivée à Sault Sainte Marie assez tôt, et depuis plus d'une heure, je me cherche une chambre d'hôtel dans le coin de Terrace Bay. Pas évident! C'est complet partout. C'est la fin de semaine ! J'ai fait une demande sur le site de Couchsurfing mais les hôtes sont rares dans ce coin. Mais, je trouverai bien.
Je sortirai tantôt pour souper.
En passant, un gros merci à tous ceux et celles qui me laissent un commentaire. Je les lis tous et j'apprécie beaucoup. Continuez ! 😊 Je ne peux malheureusement répondre à tous les messages. J'espère que vous comprenez ! Ne soyez pas inquiets de ne pas voir votre commentaire tout de suite quand vous le postez. Il faut que je les voie et que je les approuve avant qu'ils ne deviennent visibles. Si je suis sur la route ou que je n'ai pas de Wifi, ça peut prendre plusieurs heures.

Je pensais devoir trouver un petit motel sur le bord de la route, à mon arrivée. J'aime beaucoup mieux savoir où je vais. 😊
Petite épicerie faite : fruits, légumes, fromage et peanuts pour la route. Maintenant, je relaxe ! Et je me couche tôt ! Mais enfin, peut-être! 😊

Jour 7 - samedi le 6 juillet 2013, 20h30 Départ de Sault Sainte Marie ce matin vers 10h00. 495 km de route. Je suis toujours sur l'autoroute 17. De la forêt, de la forêt et encore de la forêt, et beaucoup de petits lacs. Et je longe aussi le Lac Supérieur. Je confirme ! Il est très grand ! 😊 Je partage la route avec plusieurs camions remorques, quelques voitures, motos et cyclistes.
Je fais un arrêt à Wawa, question de prendre la fameuse oie géante en photo. Je prend aussi le temps de visiter le magasin général. Je m'achète un morceau de "Rocky Road fudge". Un peu sucré, mais très bon.
Je suis arrivée un peu avant 17h00, un peu fatiguée mais contente de ma journée. L'hôtel est bien correct et je suis contente d'avoir réservé à l'avance. On m'a
donné une chambre double au rez-de-chaussée afin que je n'aie pas à monter les escaliers avec tous mes bagages.
Malgré la longue route et le paysage qui reste le même, kilomètre après kilomètre, je ne m'ennuie pas de conduire. J'admire les montagnes, les fôrets et les lacs. Je jette d'ailleurs toujours un coup d'œil rapide sur les lacs au cas où je verrais un orignal en train de boire. Pas de chance ! J'écoute la radio ou mon iPod et je chante à tue-tête. J'adore ! 😊 Aujourd'hui, j'ai entendu le groupe Foreigner chanter "I Wanna Know What Love Is" et j'ai eu une pensée pour mon groupe gospel qui va avoir le plaisir de chanter cette chanson avec le groupe, samedi prochain lors du Festival d'été de Québec. Amusez-vous bien, mes amis. J'aurai un petit pincement au cœur ! Ah, la jalousie, c'est pas beau ! 😊
Pas certaine de ressortir ce soir. C'est un peu plus frais ce soir et il y a risque de pluie. Il y a quand même un restaurant et un petit centre d'achat où je peux aller à pied. On verra !

Jour 8 - Dimanche, le 7 juillet 2013, 09h00
Comment se fait-il que quoique je fasse, je me réveille vers 06h30 ? Ce matin, j'étais certaine qu'il était beaucoup plus tard, et bien non, 06h36. 😊 Mais, je me suis rendormie jusqu'à 08h30.
Petit détail - depuis hier soir, je ne peux plus verrouiller les portes de ma voiture en utilisant la clé. Et ni avec la clé de rechange ou même la bidule de mon démarreur à distance. Je peux débarrer, mais pas barrer! Je dois utiliser le mécanisme manuel situé dans la portière côté conducteur. Bizarre ! Le problème vient de la voiture et non des clés. (Aujourd'hui, j'ai remarqué que ça fonctionnait à l'occasion.)
Pas de presse ce matin. Je vais petit-déjeuner à ma chambre - muffin et jus d'orange et je vais filer vers Thunder Bay. Un peu plus de 200 km seulement !
À mon départ, j'ai eu le "plaisir" de voir deux nouvelles égratignures sur la portière arrière, côté conducteur. Coups de porte de voiture, pas une fois mais deux. 😞
Arrivée à Thunder Bay vers 15h00. À l'entrée de la ville, je suis allée voir le monument dédié à Terry Fox.
Un très beau site et une belle vue ! C'est très impressionnant de penser à ce que ce jeune homme a pu accomplir avant d'être emporté par ce foutu cancer.
Il n'y a rien de vraiment mirobolant à voir à Thunder Bay. C'est le troisième port en importance au Canada et est situé en amont de la navigation sur le lac Supérieur. J'ai voulu aller à la marina mais... c'est le Bluesfest! Site non accessible, et il y a une importante foule qui écoute des groupes de musique ! Voilà pourquoi il fut si difficile de trouver une chambre d'hôtel. 😊. Je suis ensuite allée au Hill Crest Park. Rien de bien excitant ! Revenue à ma chambre au bout d'une heure à peine. Demain, j'irai voir les chutes Kakabeka, à quelques kilomètres de Thunder Bay. J'espère aussi que le temps sera moins gris. Aujourd'hui, ce fut beaucoup plus frais que ces derniers jours. Je vais sortir tantôt, à pied, pour souper dans un Boston Pizza. Je ne mange au resto qu'une fois par jour, pas plus.

Days 6-7-8 Day 6 - Friday, July 5, 2013, 8:30 pm A very nice day for travelling. Nice and warm (28 C). Did not do a lot of mileage today. One day at a time.
I've noticed, while being in the vicinity of Sudbury that French was very present in this part of the country. I didn't hear anyone speaks French but there are a few French channels on TV and the radio. The signs everywhere are also often bilingual. On Highway 17 W, there are many woods and lakes. Beautiful! I arrived in Sault Sainte Marie early and for more than an hour, I am looking of a hotel room around Terrace Bay. Not easy! It's full everywhere. It is the weekend! I made a request on Couchsurfing site but the hosts are rare in these parts of the wood. But, I will find something. I can always sleep in my car. 😊 Not far from Sault Sainte Marie, I had the chance to photograph a father and son gathering hay. I believe that they are Amish. Then, I saw a field of canola (in a detour in the back roads to find a market that wasn't worth it). There, I talked to a farmer and his wife that were passing by in their truck. He was wearing overalls, and a dog was sitting between the two of them, in the front seat. The man told me that it wasn't a good year for canola. Not hot enough! Mmm, not the case today anyway. 😊
Will go out later for dinner. By the way, thanks to everyone who has left a comment. I read them all and I really appreciate it. Keep them coming! 😊 I can't respond to each and every message. I hope you understand. Don't worry if you don't see your comment right away when you post them. I have to see them and approve them before they become visible. If I'm on the road or don't have access to Wifi, it may take a few hours. 7:50pm - Yeah, I have a room tomorrow night at the Red Dog Inn in Terrace Bay. I was expecting to look for a motel on my arrival there. I much prefer to know where I'm going. 😊 Bought some fruit, baby carrots, cheese and peanuts for the road. Now, time to relax! I left Sault Sainte Marie this morning around 10h. 495 km to go. I am still on Highway 17. Trees, trees and still more trees, and a lot of small lakes! And I follow alongside the Superior Lake. I confirm! It is very big! 😊 I am sharing the road with a few vans, some cars, motocycles and cyclists. I make a stop at Wawa to take a few pictures of the big goose. I also take the time to visit the General Store where the original goose resides. I buy a piece of Rocky Road fudge. Pretty good! I arrive in Terrace Bay a bit before 5:00 pm, a little tired but satisfied of my day. The hotel is okay and I'm glad that I was able to make a reservation in advance. They gave me a double room on the ground floor so that I don't have to climb stairs with all my luggage and stuff. Even though it's a long road and the sights remain the same, kilometer after kilometer, I am not bored. I admire the mountains, the forest and the lakes. I always take a quick look at the lakes just in case I see a moose having a drink. No luck! I listen to the radio and my iPod and I sing out loud. Love it! 😊 Today, I heard Foreigner sing "I Wanna Know What Love Is" and I had a thought for my gospel group that will have the pleasure of singing that song with the group next Saturday during the Quebec Summer Festival. Have fun, guys! I will have a tug of my heart! Ah, jealousy is not nice! 😊
Not sure that I will go out tonight. It's a bit cooler tonight and it might rain. But there is a restaurant and a small shopping mall at walking distance. I'll see! Tomorrow, Thunder Bay ! Day 8 - Sunday, July 7 2013, 09:00 am How come that no matter what I do, I wake up around 6h30? This morning, I was sure that it was much later, but no, 6h36. 😊 But I was able to get back to sleep until 8h30. Small detail - since last night, I can't lock my doors using my key. And not with the replacement key nor the remote starter. I can unlock but not lock! I have to use the manual mecanism situated in the door of the driver. Weird! The problem comes from the car and not the keys. (During the day, I noticed that it sometime worked).
No hurry this morning. I will have breakfast in my room - muffin and orange juice and I will fly (drive) to Thunder Bay. Just a little more than 200 km! This morning, when leaving, I noticed two new scratches on the back door on the driver's side. Probably caused by a car door, not once, but twice! 😞 Arrived in Thunder Bay at 3:00 pm. Before arriving in the city, I stopped to see the Terry Fox memorial. A very beautiful site and a nice view! It's really impressive to think about what this young man accomplished before dying from that darn cancer. There is really nothing much to see in Thunder Bay. It's the third port in importance in Canada and is situated upstream of navigation on Superior Lake. I wanted to go see the marina and the waterfront but... it's the Bluesfest! Not accessible, and there was a big crowd listening to music groups! This is why it was so difficult to find a hotel room. 😊
I went to Hill Crest Park. Nothing exciting! Came back to my room after about an hour. Tomorrow, I'll stopped at the Kakabeka Falls, a few kilometres after Thunder Bay. I hope that the weather will be nicer. Today, the sky was grey and it was much cooler than the previous days. Will go out in a little while, on foot, to have dinner at Boston Pizza. I don't eat more than once in a restaurant per day.

Allo lorraine ...tres plaisant de te suivre tout au long de ton voyage...et les belle photos que tu poste....Il me semble que tu as fait pas mal un long trajet jusqu'a maintenant...sa va tres bien ton affaire..Fait attention a toi...je veux pas trop repeter la dessus...mais quand meme...faut que tu aime voyager pour faire ca toute seule....bravo....Au prochain blog...c'est le fun de lire...on fait le voayge avec toi...d'une facon bisou..Clo xxxx
