-I found myself sitting at my computer a few days ago with this website open, trying to type up my first blog entry. I racked my brain over and over, but I was at a loss to find a way to kick this blog off. What does one say when they are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime? I know that I am speech-less right; I still cannot believe that I am doing this trip. In a few short days, the tires will leave the tarmac at Pearson International, and I will be bound to finish this trip. Confused yet? For those of you who don't know, I am traveling across the European Continent this summer (2011) from June 19th to August 19th. I will be solely propelled by bio-mechanical processes. -Excuse me? ... read more

Gail and I have had some short trips since the end of February but as we near the end of 2010, we find ourselves pooped out from the trials and tribulations of oh, so ordinary lives!! You can see how the year affected our appearance. The Zombie Walk at the end of October was where we belonged. At that point, my poor BLister was describing herself as having a "fruit fly brain"...since her son Chris left for university in London ON in August, I have been her designated driver for any out-of-town excursions and believe me, she could not have described it better. So as Gail let her fingers do the walking on her laptop, she came across the website for a wonderful spa in Bancroft ON. Take a look!! We are still packing right now. ... read more

Hello Dear Family and Friends In just a few days, I will be headed on a jet plane to Fort Lauderdale and Gail will be in Aruba floating on the Lazy River. The past few months have been busy for both of us and since Arizona we have only managed short jaunts together. But even the short trips have been fun and we are always open to new adventures no matter where we are. In the pictures at this website, you can see the Lazy River that Gail will be spending most of her time in. Her brother Drew and his wife Kris will join her and Richard for a week when they are down there and she is really hoping nieces, Megan and Erica will be able to come for a few days. I hope ... read more

Day 60. 17,503Km When I started day one, two, three, driving along the St Lawrence day 60 seemed a long way off but I knew I'd get to it. I had another restless night an although I would have liked to sleep longer I knew I had 600Km ahead of me so I got up and made some toast with PB. Oh, by the way, last night I had one of those Dole bagged salads which I often buy but this time I got the Thai or Oriental one knot knowing what I was getting into. RCSS in Thunder Bay had them on sale and I saw carrot and red cabbage in the bag so I grabbed it. Unbeknownst to me, I guess I should have read the bag, there was a bag inside with shaved ... read more

Day 58. 16,755Km Rather than take the most direct route on Hwy 17 I googled a camp site in Fort Frances and decide to take the more scenic Hwy 11 option but first I had to stop at the home of my favorite store. Princess Auto started as a wrecking yard in Winnipeg and is now everywhere but Quebec. When I got there the campground was a run down trailer park that allowed overnight parking. No thanks. There was a municipal campground but they had no showers and I already skipped the night before. Besides, it was raining pretty good and I hate taking the bike out in the rain. I have to take the bike out to get a bed down so I have no choice. I carried on to Atikokan but the motel was ... read more

I know you can’t see me right now but I am totally doing The Birthday Dance ! Today is my 39th birthday and I just know it’s going to be a wonderful day. After all, it is my last one before the big 40 ! I got to wake up on beautiful Manitoulin Island this morning and it is a glorious day. The sun is shining through the windows so bright I have to wear my sunglasses inside the motor home. My sweet, loving and adorable husband brought me breakfast in bed and even though it was a fresh bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios it was still special to me. My Momma always says “It’s the thought that counts !”. It was the best bowl of cereal I’ve ever had and I wouldn’t exchange it for ... read more

...when we had to head home. We drove from Sedona to Phoenix just a week ago but not before we finished seeing some of the sights in Sedona. Lucille Ball had a vacation home in Sedona, very high on a hill top just down the street from where we stayed in Sedona. Lucille is long gone but her daughter apparently still comes to Sedona on occasion and she has installed a mannequin of Lucille on one of the porches. So if you peak thru the trees, you can see her waving. Of course, we had to check out the Olde UFO Store where the lady who owns the store swears the Martian behind the glass was one of the originals from Roswell, New Mexico. The Roswell UFO Incident involves the recovery of materials near Roswell in ... read more

In 72 hours, the Blazing Blisters will be in Arizona. It has been an adventure just planning the logistics of this adventure and trying to get out of town in one piece. Of all the things we have lost over the years, we miss our minds the most...but maybe that is what makes our trips so much fun. We met for breakfast last evening (yes, we do breakfast any time of day or night) and synchronized our day planners and we are ready to go. We had to make sure that for every event, treatment, tour etc we booked, that we have planned a "rest day". And except for the free breakfast, we don't have to do mornings. We don't want to come back from our vacation tired and stressed, do we?? When Gail was booking ... read more

Sue was just talking to a friend who wondered how we were going to get any rest at the Heart Walk Center sleeping on those narrow treatment beds and hanging with Phoenix and Leon. Rest assured...we are not staying at the Center. We are staying at a regular hotel with really nice beds and a nice pool. We will just be going to the center for the treatments we choose. We will also travel to the Grand Canyon and the Petrified Forest, which are 2-3 hours away. ... read more
