Biking Clearview (Collingwood) Trail Trail Location: Between Stayner and Collingwood, Ontario Distance: 12 km (+5 more) Surface: Crushed Limestone Difficulty: Flat, Easy Parking: Gideon and Brock Street in Stayner Washrooms: at each end Benches on the trail: None Water: None on trail The Clearview Train Trail is a nice easy ride passing through farmland. It joins Stayner and Collingwood, Ontario. The Clearview Train Rail is 12 km but it connects with other trails in Collingwood to make for a distance of 16 km from Stayner to Collingwood's Millennium Park (beside the grain terminals.) Another early morning drive northward. I could have held off until tomorrow and driven north in the light. It was daylights saving time Sunday morning but I figured my body would be out of sync already. My parking spot would be near the Pretty River Provincial park. As I prepped near my car I heard a strange buzzing sound in the air and it took a minute to realize it was coming from the power lines. There was a power pole near the corner where I was parked that was giving off the buzzing sound. It was a bit disconcerting but I put it out my mind and started my hike. The days are getting shorter as I continue my hike north. Starting driving at 6:20AM and it remained dark almost to the point I reached the head of trail. There was a bit of a hiccup on the drive north as the main rd through Orangeville was shutdown by a large car accident. I routed around through side roads until I got back onto the main rd. I reached my head of trail at 7:45AM and geared up and looked around for the sun but it was blocked by rain clouds. I started hiking through Nottawasaga Bluffs Conservation area. The trail through the conservation area is both rocky and narrow. Hiking at this time of year is difficult because the trail is covered by leaves so you can't see the actual trail very well.
