Woke up late this morning as this will be our last day at ship. We had not spent a lot of time looking at shops or other entertainment at the cruise ship. There were some planned activities also such as ‘Intro to Chefs and maitre d. Even though, the program was not a serious cooking show, it included a tour of the kitchen and other cooking facilities. SOme of the statistics for serving 2000 folks in the ship are staggering. For example, 800 pounds of coffee powder per day is used in the ship. It is a massive operation and so much preparation and work that goes on in the background before a smiling waiter serves you with the dessert when you are at your dining table. Crew typically stays for 9 months stretch (most of ... read more

Acordamos ... read more

I am so far behind with my posting I will never get caught up. We haven't had good Wi-Fi until just the last few days so here are some of our older pictures. When leaving Montana and entering Canada we took some pictures of the Canada rockies and they were very much like the Montana rockies. There sure was a lot of marsh lands in the valley in Canada. We were terribly disappointed in Canada because it rained everyday. Canada's Hyw.#1 even washed out and forced us to head back to the US early. Lake Louise is short of water as is lake Moraine. They had plenty of rain while we were there but the snow fall last winter was not the usual amount and I think you can see in the pictures how far down ... read more

... read more

An early morning dash by Scott behind the wheels of the Campervan saw us make the early ferry across Upper Arrow Lake. It was a scenic crossing, we stood looking out ... at one with nature. Ah ha ha, cheeeeeeese. To stretch the legs we got out at the Glacier National Park museum near Mount Revelstoke. It was quite interesting, they had stuffed animals, so I saw what a Wolverine looks like. I bet it would surprise you if you saw one. They are quite small viscous looking things. If anyone has seen a movie with a bear in it, I bet the actors climbed up the tree to escape it. This is always what I had envisioned doing if I was confronted. That is until I watched the safety video on bears. Let me tell ... read more

We left the hotel at 9:30 and instead of going to a local bakery and juice bar for breakfast, we ended up staying at the hotel for their complimentary food. Brianna wanted to go to a used bookstore we saw on the way back from the pub last night and so we stopped off there (books were super cheap!) before going to The Mall. Our first stop in the mall was the only clothing store we visited. Next we went to the indoor amusement park. Wow. We didn’t go on any rides but we wandered around for awhile and played a few games (Whack-a-mole and a shooting-gallery) and got ripped out of tickets. It’s probably a good thing since we’d just have to cart around whatever we won. Next stop was the Deep-Sea adventures, but ... read more

My dad and I started out at 4:00 am from Champaign, IL in my 1994 toyota corolla with my two dogs, two tents, almost enough food and sodas for a month and lots of camping gear and by noon the 3rd day we were having lunch in Glacier National Park. On the way to Alaska we took the long way to see the sites. The first day we went through Madrid, Iowa were my parents first lived after they were married, the Corn Palace in South Dakota and spent a windy night in the Bad Lands. The second day we went through Mt. Rushmore (something to skip in the future) and then drove through Wyoming and Montana. The third night was in a huge empty camp ground in the Canadian Rockies, where we almost froze and ... read more
