The wall of Avila from El Molino de la Losa, during lunch.
Slept in late, 8am, then decided to stroll thru the southern part of Avila (old part) down to the restaurant I found on the internet, El Molino de la Losa. It wasn't open yet, since lunch isn't served until 1 or 2pm, so we climbed around the southern part of the wall looking for a supermarket we'd heard about. It wasn't open on Sunday so we went to get the bus tickets for our trip to Segovia tomorrow. By the time we got back to the hostal it was after 1pm, so back down to the restaurant for lunch. Had a wonderful view of the wall while we ate raciones of thick potato tortilla, an ok assortment of cheeses and the best stuffed peppers (pimentos rellenos) I'd ever had. Afterwards we waddled back up to the hostal for a well-deserved nap. After a refrreshing nap, we headed out into the newer part of Avila to call my brother-in-law and use the internet again. Some more shopping and we headed out for dinner at Restaurant Las Murallas. They don't serve dinner until 8:30pm! We each had a bowl of Judias de la Barco, a famous dish here in Avila, and shared an

excellent tropical salad. The judias are sort of like great northern beans in a tasty sauce with sausage and bacon. Before turning in, we had to stroll along the wall for a nighttime view of the wall...quite impressive. Well, off to bed. We leave by bus for Segovia tomorrow and want to do some last minute shopping.
