Hello everyone....the Europe journey has began, and its been soo great so far, with a fabulous start...
After a month in Asia, we flew from Bangkok, which we couldnt get out of quick enough...so sick of seeing the same scammers everyday and this disgusting guy we nicknames munge that was wasted at the same bar everyday...he he-We flew overnight from bangas to Copenhagen and then landed in Paris mid morning, found our way to our hotel, which we later realised wasnt in the nicest place of Paris, a lot of African, Pakistan gangs of guys hanging around everywhere, especially in hairdressers starring us down..pretty funny though..
So the first day we settled a little and walked around to find a great suberb called Monmatre where we saw the amazing Basilique du Sacre Coeur, where africans persist on calling you beautful and make you a cotton wristband which we didnt fall for paying 10 euro for...idiots... Our first night in Paris didnt entail all that much apart from a salad and a couple of wines and bed after a long flight.
Day two we went on a tour bus around Paris, its a hop off hop on tour which we had
for two days...the city is utterly amazing, so much history and the buildings are amazing, we got our first glimpse of the eiffel tower and notre dame, arc de triomphe and endless amounts of cobblestone streets and beautful cafes..coffee and croissants were delightful.
Walking around Paris we found a flea market which we thrived on, so cheap and fresh fruit and seafood etc. and it looks sooo good..
We finished this day with a scrumpsious cheese and tapas plate and red wine...something that i dont think would ever taste as good in melbourne.
That night we out of our scary suberb, walking through hairdresser salons filled with gangs of africans, pretty scary, but also soo funny to this little restaurant where again we had a delightful meal... no ez, not all we did was eat, but in france eating was definately a highlight.. he he.. after sipping on our beers, the waitress connented that we drink like cowboys? we were so embarrassed, but it made sense why the homeless man was pointing and laughing at us... he he
we then ventured around to find an oz bar, we had to go in, but this chain was a little tacky, and
fosters on tap wasnt all that comforting...
The following day we trained south-east to a smaller town named Dijon, yes it is where they make the mustard, it was such a quaint town, soo old.. and again we had a brilliant meal, we also were brave enough to try beef tartare... which is very similar to a mound of raw mince meat... but suprisingly quite nice. There wasnt all that much in Dijon, so we went on to Lyon, we loved it here.... such a beautiful town, again full of history and a new town and old town.... we ended up having one big red wine filled night here in Lyon.....
Our days have been busy, but weve loved it... fro, Lyon we head to Switzerland, which i have fallen in love with.
We stayed one night in Geneva, which didnt offer much other than high prices and the Jet Daeu, the spirting warter fountain in the lake.. but there main attraction. Friday we went to Interlaken which was amongst the swiss alps, snow on teh top but 26 degrees down in the tozn, soo delightful. So friday night we met a group of sunny coast aussie boys.. so
we ended up having a pretty big night at the hostel, finishing up with raw hot dogs and a stern telling off to get to bed. he he. Saterday we headed to Cases much loved and recommended sight, Lauterbrunnen, we walked around here for hours, it was right in amongst the alps; a small toan, that was breath taking in how gorgeous it was... mum, i was looking for Braunviehs, but didnt see one. Then it got to Sunday whiwh was the big day... the skydive was on the afternoon agenda.. we got picked up at 4pm and after a long wait out at the skydiving place, jewels and i finally jumped at about 6:30.... i tandemed with a jumper called Hans and jewels went up with a guy from townesville, was an expensive adventure, but sooo worth it... our dvds are getting sent home, so youll have to all share it around, i have no idea what i am doing on it, but i be warned it there is swear words.... so we jumped over the swiss alps, a big trqvel box to tick off and it was awesome, def doing it again....
From Interlaken weve flown to
Brussles, Belgium where we have met steve and skip and the new addition to teh trip, rainbow the van... so a whole lot of driving will be done between now and octoberfest.
Were off to Amsterdam in the next few days...
missing everyone at home, but its great to see some familar faces...
keep me updated with the goss...
