Good Morning! It's like 06:29 AM here, I'm pretty sure most of you (including my mom dad) are wondering how I can be awake before dusk (or may be in the middle of night per my own biological day cycle ). If I were a poet, I would have made most of this opportunity to express my thoughts.. under such a beautiful starry night, perfect for Star Gazers (may be from TAS or may be astronomers like Galielo Galilei et al. Anyhow, only words I have to describe this spectacular view from the window of my so-called bedroom in Caravan are from an excerpt of the poem by Dennis Pelliccia composed with inspiration from Van Gogh's painting - Starry Night! Starry, starry, starry night, I lie beneath the glimmering sky A cloud above; an angel's stare, ... read more

We were definitely in Wales when the bitterly cold wind hit us as soon as I opened the car door! I went to Snowdonia, North Wales, over the half-term with my brothers and my dad for several nice...yet tough… mountain walks. It is probably the fourth time being there, and we decided to try Mt. Snowdon for the second time- this time the mountain (even ourselves) coated in snow. It was fantastic! Ascending the mountain felt so rewarding when we reached the summit. We could see nothing but snow at first, then the grey clouds started to part and we had the benefit of seeing north Wales at 1085 meters high in the sky. However, possibly the best moment was when we descended the mountain. Normally walking down these types of mountains your knees are not ... read more

One thing I'm getting really good at is last minute unplanned trips. Earlier in the week Chuck and I had a brief thought of going to Wales and it wasn't brought up again until Friday Mid-morning and that evening we took off. Had one of Chuck's friends (Alan) join us as well. This guy finds out about the trip only an hour or so before we leave and still managed to get everything ready to go and into the car before Chuck...something wrong with that picture. Anyway, we headed out with a car full to Climb Tryfan Mountain in Snowden. The pictures tell the stories, so enjoy... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tryfan... read more

Another little detour before the big one, which by the way, we are assured by all concerned is stilll happening and we will be in a safe area and looked after. So-this time a little trip for Jane and some 'old!' friends to visit a lovely part of Wales and stay with another 'younger' friend at her B and B,-Bryn Elltyd ,Blaenau Ffestiniog. We had a great time and it didn't rain, the sun shone and we went to the sea-side,mountains,and water falls and eat a lot of ice-cream! I did promise not to put the pictures on here! It is about a month now before we depart and although I know in a couple of weeks time I will probally be in a panic, at the moment I seem to be in limbo and a waiting place! ... read more

FINALLY I am about to tour a bit of the country I will be living in the next couple of months. I am very excited to see Wales, and I’ll be very honest I do not know much about it considering I am studying here. I was happy to know where in the UK it’s located before I left - pretty sure Tecwyn will make sure we know a lot more than that before we leave. The best way to learn is to go visit and see history first-hand. The list of sites in Wales we saw are: Sep. 14th visit Penhryn Castle Sep. 15th Snowdonia - including devil’s kitchen, the Ugly House, St. Winifred’s Well, Swallow Falls, Slate Mines, Sep. 16th Chester First, Penhryn Castle history… it was owned by Lord Penhryn who made his ... read more

This is my paragraph to explain that I am not a very good blogger. I do not like sitting in front of my computer typing out my travels. While I know many of you are waiting patiently, I can only offer you an apology. Since France and Italy I have made my way through Ireland travelling from Dublin to the Aran Islands (off the west coast). I have also made my way North to Scotland. There I fished for Nessie, took a tour of the Brodie Castle (yes, we have a castle, so yes that means I’m important), and visited Joshua in Edinburgh. Since then I've been mingling with students from Bangor and started my idea of classes for the semester. Everybody else thinks they're a joke, and I might agree to a point (psychology of ... read more

This is my account of my horrible, rotten, no good, very bad day. Please be advised that this is just one day in a list of very amazing, fun-filled, exciting days. If you are planning on going to Rome, or anywhere in Europe for that matter this could be an interesting one to ready, but please don’t let it be the only one you read. I would still go back to Roma, Italia in a heartbeat, maybe after I learn a little more Italian. This day should have been a blank in the ol’ blog, but because of certain unforeseen events it has become one that I think needs to be shared. It started very early in the morning after a very late night of packing. I had already figured most things for today out, and ... read more

Well, I just returned to Castle Donington in England after spending Monday to Saturday of this week in Nefyn, which in on the LLeyn Peninsula in North Wales. I spent most of the time visiting my Nain (welsh for grandmother), Aunts, and Cousins. A definate highlight was going down to the beach with my 15 year old cousin Taran and group of his friends and having a swim in the Irish Sea. They were all getting ready to get their wetsuits on when the mad canadian ran down the beach and dove in no problem. They all stood there shocked, and finally were too embarrassed to put on the wetsuits after that. It was cold at first, but you got used to it, and it really wasn't that bad (quite a bit warmer than the sea ... read more
