There was once an excellent comedian named Jasper Carrott . Jasper came from the Midlands and toured around the country on the comedy circuit . He visited towns here and there talking about his town of Dudley which he pronounced in a black country accent and made fun of anything and everything . Those were the days before woke made it difficult to make fun of anything without offending . He raised a laugh when he shouted out that the inhabitants of Mold were unfortunate living in a place called Mould . Who would want to live in a place called Mould ? Sadly of course Mold sounds like Mould so it invited the joke from him . Laughing at yourself is an art we have sadly lost . Actually Mold is a nice place to ... read more

It was a cold and chilly end of January day. The nights are just starting to draw out but it still has that chill that only comes just before Spring arrives . We had not been out for some while. We were stagnating if the truth be known. We kept saying we ought to go out and just visit anywhere but anywhere was finding hard to find . We had been living here for a little over 2 years and in that time I had continued to find things to see and do. However, since Christmas things had quietened down. There were no new exhibitions to visit . Walking was not on the agenda. The roads had been flooded and we had suffered the first snow of the winter. We were getting complacent . Shall we ... read more

Today was going to be a special day. We were heading out to pick up our girl Gabby and go out for a ride in her. The first real trip out since last September when we took her to Northumbria. The sun was shining . It was the warmest March day for years. Gabby was locked away in her home for the winter. We felt a sense of real pleasure to be free to travel . Even if this was only in Wales . We felt pleased to be able to put the code into the lock on the gate and open up the gate. Gabby had lain forlorn for so long. We opened her up and stood inside her. The first thing I tried was the control for the lithium battery . The engine battery ... read more

Sometimes - that is a funny old word . Sometimes we do something different . It was Wednesday - work day, walk day and shopping day. I did none of those things . Work, shopping and the walk would have to wait until Thursday . Sometimes is one of those random thoughts that creep into your head. It comes from somewhere but equally comes from nowhere. You don't really know how you got to sometimes but you have got there. Sometimes it is the smell of fresh baking bread. The sound and smell of sizzling bacon frying away in a pan. Lamb cooking gently in the oven . Mint Sauce . Sometimes it seems like nothing at all . We had parked up in a tiny village high up above Wrexham waiting for the hairdresser appointment ... read more

Saturday morning i drove to Vicky's, transferred my luggae to her car & headed off up the M40, stopping briefly ar Warwick services where we sad to discover Tossed don't have an outlet at the northbound services but compenstated for the loss of tasty wraps with a big plate of chips! Continued north & west into Wales and arrived at the house around 4pm where Chavaunne shortly joined us & we had tea & cake. After an interlude to visit & feed the ponies we graduated to wine & bean stew for supper before washing it down with more wine & crisps! Sunday we had a lazy start and went for a walk from the house around local farms & up the hill behind the house. This included a field of very friendly bullocks, a farmer ... read more

Looking back over my shoulder - words from a Mike and the Mechanics song that I love. T For me this time of the year is a time to both look back over my shoulder at 2012, to gather thoughts about a year in the life of Suzy and to look forward and plan 2013 trips. Well it's not been quite a year.. This time last year she was still a glimmer without any substance. Ordered but that was it. Since we picked her up we have used her extensively and we have acquired three new friends. Sion the Sheep all white coated wool and innocent, Sions friend Dragon a fiery red welsh beast who breathes fire but most of the time sits placidly whilst snoring his life away. And then there is Baa Baa. Sions ... read more

Day 1: I Visit Errolbunt The land was a far, far place from my home in the city. Actually it was the total opposite of a city, the good old country side. It inculded high, rocky mountains, rolling hills, grassy, green plains and deep bodies of green- grey water. It was acutally a pretty big chunk of land. There was this really old town that looked like one of those medieval villages that consisted of grazing horses, wooden fences and moldy hut-like houses. If you drive up a bit north of Ironkeg theres a huge cave of unimagineable size made of rock and covered with disgusting mold. I honestly think its home to some oversized troll. After you pass the cave, you meet a river full of grey water which I personally think is an acid ... read more
