So this is my new blog. I don’t know how often I will be able to update as I do not have regular internet access. At this current moment I have nicked Simon’s matric card to get into the U of E library. Oh well. Ok, Where to start? With my adventures in packing before I left, with my arrival and time in London, or with last night? I would like to leave out packing all together because, other than a huge thank you to all who helped (especially mom); I would like to forget the whole experience. So I will begin with last night as it is fresh in my mind and then jump around a bit with stories about London. And if you don’t like it, remember this is my blog and you can ... read more

So today Nicole and her father and I went to lunch and then I ventured off to climb Arthur's Seat (I may totally have the guy's name wrong). It was this beautiful mountain-like cliff with rolling green hills filled with yellow flowers. It was fun but and beautiful (and yes I took some pictures). Then I headed into the center of town kind of wandered since I didn't know where I was after exploring the quasi-mountain. I ended up walking up through this cute little shopping street and stopping in a photography gallery. The photos were interesting but what held my attention even more was the beautiful photo facilities in the basement. As I was leaving I stopped to chat with the woman manning the welcome desk. She seemed a little older than me and we ... read more

So Suzy drove me to London Stansted this morning for my flight to Edinburgh. I made it on time only to find the flight delayed. The have a stupid system where they don't assign seats people just rush onto the plane like a heard of hungry animals! I made some friends while in the crowd, a man and a woman in their late 40s heading to a funeral. We decided to watch the crowd and make fun of them so we soon sat next to eachother continuing our sarcastic banter. We first waited 20 minutes for the plane to be refueled, we were then teased by a couple of minutes of runway action only to hault to an announcement that a passenger would be leaving the plane and that we needed to wait for the stairs ... read more

With our backpacks mounted we trekked our way up to the train station excitedly to catch the train into London to arrive at Heathrow for our 1:50pm flight to Edinburgh, Scotland. It all went off without a gliche, apart from the fact I sat alone on the flight as my seat was seperate to Mel's and Luke's. Unfortunately I couldn't see anything while flying as there were clouds everywhere. We landed at Edinburgh airport and pretty much walked straight out on to a bus that took us into the city. It was quite a nice drive as we passed through the city and were dropped off in the centre. The directions given to us to get to the hostel were a little sketchy, and after about 15 minutes wandering around in kind of the right area ... read more

After a year together Liani surprised me with a trip to Edinburgh. We flew up early and stayed in the lovely EQ2 apartments overlooking the regenerated EQ canal basin. Edinburgh is beautiful, much much nicer than old London town, and if I had the opportunity to work there rather than London, I would. We did the open top bus tour which due to the small size of the city, can be completed within half a day. It was interesting to hear the rather murderous bloody history of Scotland. They were very intolerant of crimes, stealing a loaf of bread would result in a public beheading! We saw the new Scottish Parliament which has apparently caused quite a stir amongst the more traditional Scots who were unimpressed with the modern design. I liked it but I can ... read more

Hey everybody, well having finally finished uni I decided I needed to start having fun again and found the perfect way to do so. Headed through to edinburger and went on a cow hunt with my mate Laura. It was awesome. we found about forty cows and got into some rather fetching positions with most of them. then headed to the slopes at hillend for a bash on the board before heading out to Cavendish at night. Although only a day trip it was the best day i've had in a long time. Will let the photos speak for themselves. I've also thrown in a couple o shots from back home in Fraserburgh. Hope abdys well, Julie XXX... read more

Hello Everyone! Our time in Scotland was short, very short, but we took in what we could and had a great time running around. The landscape out here is unbelievable and the architecture is absolutely amazing (many cuts and lines…get it Fred?). We were expecting rain in Scotland, since it is well know for that, and it pretty much rained the whole time there. We weren’t disappointed at all though because it just wouldn’t be Scotland if it was always sunny and dry. When we last blogged it up, we were heading back to London where we were going to catch our overnight bus to Glasgow. As uncomfortable as an overnight bus sounds, it was quite uncomfortable, but we got some sleep and the 8 hours seemed to fly by. Before we knew it we were ... read more

Felt so much better after the nap, even if I don't think it was long enough. It was nice having a day just for me in Edinburgh. Got directions to the nearest Lloyds from reception...directions, I would like to add, which have led me to believe that they had all been drinking some pretty hearty spirits, because that got me nowhere near a Lloyds. I, however, being the wonderfully capable and skilled navigator that I am, managed to find one, about 20 blocks from where they said I would. Ok...maybe not that far. Only about 8 blocks. But whatever, you get the point. 8 blocks can feel like 20 in Edinburgh, with the winding non-sensical streets. Got the money for WIS, so that's good. Still have a goodly amount in the bank too, that's always nice! ... read more
