Gabby the motorhome stayed home today . We were just travelling a fairly short distance on a mission . The mission to go out and buy a climbing rose . Not just any climbing rose but a red one that would grace on of our garden walls . We had found the best rose nursery on the doorstep and set off . The weather was unkind . It rained off and on throughout the one hour journey . The sun never put an appearance in all day. It was a wonderful feeling again to get out even if it was not in our girl Gabby. Roses - you either like them or loathe them . Many gardens in the 50's and 60's were full of standard roses with wonderful names . Peace a stalwart produced just ... read more

Woolly says – I peered out of the window as I waited for Jo to finish whatever it is that she has to do to get out of the place, it only takes me ten seconds to leap from my bed and be dressed and ready to go! Darker clouds were gathering, the hot balmy weather seems to have departed leaving us with grey skies and high chances of rain, todays excursion would be undercover so there wasn’t a need for my raincoat. With Zoe working for the day I had been left to entrain Jo alone and having considered our options I decided it was time to make a return visit to one of my favourite museums. Our last visit had been on 26th January 2013, how can you be so accurate I hear you ... read more

It will be two years on the 4th November since we arrived here in the UK to start our new life in Albrighton and, our new church life as part of St Chads in Boningale as well as part of the United Benefice in Albrighton which includes St Mary's and St Cuthbert's. WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?????? As you have probably noticed the time span between Blog updates has become longer, the last update being some 5 months ago, so this will be our last update on this Blog, we feel that now is the time to let go and bring the blog to it's conclusion. God continues to keep us very active and very busy with our Quiet Day Ministry as well as our outreach work with Wolverhampton Homeless Outreach and we have been so ... read more

In our last Blog we detailed the 'Greed and Grace' Quiet Day on 14th May and we are now preparing for the next Quiet Day on 16th July. 'Walking with the Lord' is based around the footprints poem. On 17th September we have our final Quiet Day for 2016 'Power of Prayer'. Look us up and Like us on Facebook - St. Chad's Quiet Days Ministry On 13th April we were fortunate to experience a Stuart Townend concert which was held at a church in Nuneaton which was filled with 300 people giving it a great atmosphere. Well we have arrived back home in Albrighton, safe and sound, after our quick 3 week visit to Melbourne. Christmas and New year seems so long ago but it's only been about 7 weeks. At St Chads we held our carols by candlelight service where we were part of the Boningales congregational choir. The service was followed by mince pies and mulled wine. On Christmas day we had a 9.00am communion service, which is always special. On Sunday 10th January we had the privilege to lead the Family service where we get to do our own thing (within reason of course). At St Marys we participated in the Christmas children's crib service where Jess, dressed as a shepherd, led some of the children around the church. We attended the carol service and also the midnight mass ... read more

2 Timothy 14 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2 preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and ... read more

We have all seen the pictures and read or heard the stories relating to the plight of the refugees. Call them what you will, migrants, refugees or asylum seekers, they are all human beings fleeing from something that you and I cannot imagine. How would we cope if the situation were reversed and the water we had to cross in a small rubber dinghy was still safer than the land we stood on? Could we take the decision? We pray that we will never know. Revd. Mary has been telling a story about a Kingfisher and a forest fire. The animals and birds of the forest run around not knowing what to do, so do nothing. Whereas the kingfisher goes back and forth between some water and the fire picking up one drop at a time ... read more

Well summer has officially ended here in the UK, the Ashes have been played, and won or lost depending on who you support. The weather has turned cooler, the days are getting shorter. The children have returned to school after their 7 week summer holidays and we hope for an Indian summer before winter arrives. Life is good, God continues to be good to us and provide all we need. We continue to enjoy living in Albrighton, living in our flat on the high street and being not only part of the United Benefice for our church life but being part of village life in general. Jess has been busy working in the local menswear shop covering days for people on holidays as well as continuing with his gardening work. We have both been involved in ... read more

It's now been some 7 weeks since we enjoyed our restful summer holiday in Tenby, South Wales, and we wonder where those 7 weeks have gone. Summer has been very pleasant here in the UK with some warm days. One of our garden customers took a 3 week break in North Wales and we were asked to look after the garden including the new vegetable plantings. With the warm weather the garden required a daily water plus it's amazing how lawns grow so quickly. Another garden customer was due to host a summer garden party on Saturday 11th July and therefore required the gardens and lawn edges to be just right. Work at the menswear shop has also been busy due to staff holidays. We have also been busy with our roof top garden which has ... read more
