Hallo! (Shout out to Megan Camillo! If you don't know her, facebook her.) So I have to admit the real reason why I haven't posted in a few days. I am extremely ashamed to say that the reason is....ahhh....is.....I can't say it!....ok, I will: I have been doing homework. I have a project due on Monday (who gives projects out in London) and I have to finish it tonight because this weekend I am going to Edinburgh!!! (still do not know how to pronounce it correctly). I am super excited though to go to Edinburgh! We are leaving tomorrow night and arrive back on Sunday night. Who knows exactly what I will be doing there....but you will be sure to find out Sunday night! As you are all aware by now, Wednesday is my day off ... read more

Another American Restaurant I Ate At

This entry has been one in the making, a collection of a few things that just went the opposite of what we had planned to do. A) Hard Rock Cafe: Yes, its true. We tried to go eat some American food at Hard Rock. Victoria is a huge fan of the chain, so we ventured out one night to try and eat there. "Try" is the key word. After Victoria was convinced there wasn't going to be a wait (cough), we left with just enough time to make it at our desired time of eating. The kind gentleman at the door informed us of the 1:20 wait (not one minute and twenty seconds). Our hopes and dreams were crushed. Barack Obama promised us "Hope" and we have been let down! B) Mamma Mia: Tara, Pammy, and ... read more

Hallo! Quite an adventurous few days I have had. It all begins with my favorite line: Since I had no class on Wednesday..... So, since I had no class on Wednesday, I thought it would be another perfect day to go check out a museum (I am becoming very academic over here, sans the classroom). Early on during my time here, I received a message from Iris, a woman who I had the pleasure of meeting while working in the New Jersey Governor's Office two summers ago. She had suggested visiting the "The Cabinet War Rooms and Churchill Museum". Being that Political Science is one of my majors, this museum sounded very interesting, and I thought what a better day than my NO SCHOOL day to check it out. But first....on my way there, being ... read more

TravelBlog has informed me that the Picture Server has been fixed, and you should have no trouble viewing the pictures from yesterday's blog. Check them out! Hallo, Today was quite the interesting day...to say the least. Oh where to begin. How about from the beginning (i guess what's why its called that). I woke up around 10:45 (I am living a tough life over here), and traveled to class through the highest accumulation of snow London has seen in 18 years.....6 inches (seriously...that's how much). As I was walking towards the building I noticed several students who were in my class walking towards me. "Oh no....you've got to be kidding," I thought. "Class is canceled, there is a sign on the door." (Karma for laughing when the Buses were suspended). My emotions took a roller coaster ... read more

SNOOWWWWW DAY IN LONDONNNNNNN!!!!!!! We totally would not have had a snow day if this was Syracuse....but its not! This would happen to us. CNN headline reads "Heaviest UK snow in 18 years hits international flights". The best thing happened though, I slept through my alarm because I was up so late watching the Superbowl (3:30 it ended here in London), and Tara wakes me up at 7:56, as we were leaving at 8 for class (uh oh). I sprinted around my room getting ready (literally, the wind storm I created was enormous). 2 minutes later, Tara, Pammy, and Deborah, my Monday morning travel to class group, knocked on my door. The e-mail had just arrived: SU LONDON HAS CLOSED THEIR BUILDING FOR THE DAY!!!! Best news ever! I jumped back into bed and woke around ... read more

Howdy! So yesterday was quite the experience! It was one of those days that makes you really wish you had 200,000,000 pounds (imagine that in dollars). But first....time for a West End Theater Review with Sir Darren Nigel. The Sound of Music: It was a very good show. The cast was huge. Big casts allow for better singing during power ballads, which I love. The singing was phenomenal, and most of all, the kids were too cute! The little girl dancing and singing "So Long, Farewell...", the audience couldn't handle it. I wonder how little kids like that are able to be so brave and so talented. Overall I would highly recommended it (it does close in February though, so good luck). I have discovered that being a theater critic is not my calling and I ... read more

Hallo Everyone, (Don't forget to subscribe so you get updates, if you haven't done so already) Yesterday was quite the adventure. Having no class (yep, worth repeating in each blog), I decided to go against what everyone might think, which would be sleeping in, and I traveled off to a view museums (shocked?) Deborah did not have class until 3:30, so her and I left our flat around 11:30 when the maids (be jealous) arrived. We ventured off South Kensington tube station, where we arrived at the Science Museum (ooooooo.....ahhhhhhh). The exhibits there were very interesting, especially the one about the United States NASA program (its a good thing I came all the way hear to learn about that). The other exhibits featured computer history, the evolution of energy creating machines, and one all about you ... read more

Hallo and HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! (Happy Birthday shout out to Andrew!!!) So last night was Chinese New Year, and a few us headed into Chinatown to check out the festivities. Unfortunately, in a weird shocking discovery...there wasn't too much going on. On Sunday though, they are going all out. Fireworks, Dragon marches, free food (just a wishful hope) and much more. Sunday is also our Landlord's Superbowl Party!!! Our tickets arrived in the mail today for that, and none of us can wait. Tomorrow I have no class!!! (be jealous) But I can't sleep too late, the maids are coming (its a hard knock life). Back to today...what a great night! (well started off today really) Deborah and I decided we wanted to go see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat...so, we did. It is ... read more

That's right.....BARCELONA is the destination Lady Tara Linsley Bania the XXIV of Maida Vale and I will be heading for SPRING BREAK!!!!! (want to come?) We met with travel agent today, and on March 6th, we will be flying to Barcelona to spend 5 beautiful and glorious nights experiencing the beaches, city, and of course night life (which we are probably most excited about) Then we get home...and even though Spring Break is over...the following week is going to be ridiculous (why should this night be different than all other nights?). Hallo, I am going to stop saying "Today was an amazing day," because I realized everyday is pretty much an amazing day. As my dad recently said to me in a phone conversation "Do you have class?" (well...yes, kind of) So today was all about Stonehenge. It was pretty cool (except for the fact that was just rocks). We boarded the bus at a lovely (notice the vocab) 8:30am (yes you read right). My entire flat went, so we all traveled together. Once on the bus, we got our 10 pound deposit back (so it was kinda like making money if you forget you paid them). It took 2 hours to get there and all I wanted to do was sleep. We had a tour guide, who gave really good information (sometimes) but it was way ... read more
