Hello one and all, Since embarking on my little trip a few weeks ago I have been beset on all sides by hordes of you clammering for some news and the odd photo to prove that I’m not actually hiding out in one of the more attractive ghettos of Nottingham or filling my time before starting in ‘the real world’ by propping up a bar somewhere in Blighty. Well its only 52 days till we go, just booked the flights so now I am getting excited. Started arranging the vaccinations too, which totally shocked me by the price looks like may have to come home a few weeks earlier as eaten up some more savings !!!! Its all just countdown now. :) ... read more

Friday night we hit the town - a night out in Chelmsford with Jan, Ian, Kate and Wayne. Wayne got drunk!!!!! (very unusual!!) He turned into Jimmy one leg (with a Kevlar leg!), Ian became ‘Ella’ and I became very very tired, not getting to sleep until 7am. Overall it was a good night out at Hot House and Bassment, Wayne adding to the excitement! At least it wasn’t me this time!!!! Saturday was a day of recovery. We got up at 1pm and went and looked at some cars (Wayne is looking at getting a new one having sold his Audi he wants a newer 4x4 -making him a one car man!). On my first outing outside London we went to Southend-on-Sea,a town in the East of England, with shore to the North Sea, population wise slightly over 160.000 souls . I don't know what's it like on a usual day, but I can only suspect it's a lot quieter. It was Easter Monday and Bank Holiday and there seemed to be a huge bike parade taking place, gathering together a few hundred motorbikes. It was an annual charity motorcycle ride from Ace Cafe, London to Southend seafront and the streets were paked with bikes and bikers sporting leather outfits. Hi guys, just a little tester blog really to see if this thing actually works! I don't know how often I'm going to use it, but I shall give it go...don't think I will be quite as good as Lucy!! Anyway, 5 days to go till I leave, 12.30 midday sunday, goodbye England, well for a little while anyway. Got my tickets, visa...just got to pack yet. Okay don't know what else to say, except see ya!!
