27 August 2019, Tuesday Day 11 of travel day 7 on the C2C. At the Fairlight Guesthouse, breakfast was served promptly at 0800. I had the vegetarian breakfast with potato waffles, mushrooms baked tomato and vegan sausage with an egg. By 0930 I had walked the ten minutes to the boat and purchased tickets for the five leaving on the 9:45 ferry to Pooley Bridge. The group rate was 45 GBP which included the 10% discount for taking the early sailing. It was a gorgeous Sunny ride across the lake which was smooth as glass. The mountains around the lake were quite charming as were the people with their dogs on board. One of the two couples from Israel was also on the boat. We began our last day of hiking in the Lake District dressed for cool, damp weather. Our group had been split into two different B&Bs so we had made plans to meet at the place where we were picking up our trail. The three of us staying at Old Country View (Where Wainwright stayed many times) got advice from the the owners regarding the difficult climb of the highest peak in the Lake District. One told us to stay on the ridge, following a rocky path but avoiding the very steep descent on the traditional route. The other owner said we should take the traditional route because it was going to be very cloudy and possibly raining so we would want to get off the mountain as quickly as possible. So here is my first blog of the trip, really it's a warm up blog so people can see where the blogs are going to be posted in the future and will mainly be an introduction to what I'm actually going to be doing for the next 6 months. A week today I start a YPDTS (Young Persons Discipleship Training School) in Perth (Australia) with a mission organisation called YWAM (Youth With A Mission). Unless you've done a DTS, have looked into one yourself or have known someone who has done one, you are probably feeling completely lost at this point.
