Many many weekends I ascended on the city of bristol. Met at the train station by Chris (who I met whilst working at Thames Hospital and became our temporary flatmate). Now living in Manchester, we stayed with Chris' parents. Bristol has a possibly extensive history (that I know nothing about). It looks pretty and stuff. The town centre is built on a hill - you get fantastic views of large stone buildings and church spires. No english town centre is complete without a statue of queen victoria and Bristol's is the scarriest that I have seen. With the IPOD plugged in we chose to visit Bath for the day on saturday - paid 20p to visit a garden by the river and bathe in the sun. We have been in the United Kingdom for over a month now and last week decided it was time to settle down and get a job (the NZ dollar does not go far over here, quite a shock to the system after South East Asia). But it has been great seeing some of the uk and being made so welcome by all of Sams family. Christmas was amazing, we now know why we sing about "dreaming of a white christmas" it snowed all day and in the beautiful scenary of the Lake District it was breath taking. We brought in 2005 in style up in Edinburgh, Scotland. The fireworks were amazing. This is definately our favourite city in the UK so far, the architecture was awesome.
