Passports arrived back today with India and Vietnam visas. Full page proper inserts with holograms and everything (though for 200 notes I should think so too). Probably going to lay all the kit out on the bed this weekend and see how (if?) it all fits... Also got my car valeted today and it looks spanking. Someone's going to get a bargain I reckon - there's no way it looks like an 800 quid motor! Anyway I put an ad in Trade-It, so will hopefully get some interest next week.... read more

1st Blog Entry Here we are sitting in lovely Clifton preparing to leave with our families gathered for final farewell. We have been enjoying curries and desserts culminating in a 'happy travelling cake' complete with eight candles representing the number of months we will be away for. It's a long time! Yeah!!! To all those reading this who are not familiar with the Bristol2Bombay team; We are all friends who met at Cotham Grammar School in Bristol around the age of 13 or so. All born and bred in Bristol, apart from Samwise who maintains his African roots (The Gambia) ;-) We have all recently finished our A-levels and will all be heading off to University next September, Jona and ... read more

Getting in to the Kiwi way of life ... a BBQ... on a cold November night! But it was good fun. However I was too busy worrying about not giving everyone Salmonella (think I just about got away with it) to take any photos, so this is as good as it gets. Let's hope I do better in future, otherwise this blog thing is going to be a bit dull! ... read more

It took a while to find a hotel that looked reasonable in advance of the trip. Finally came across the Rangeworthy Court and booked directly with them (no online booking facility). At £85 per night, bed and breakfast, it sounded about right and the rooms looked ok on their website. And so it turned out to be! Very comfortable room at the top of the hotel and very quiet. Being set in the middle of farmland obviously helped. The meals were fairly good value, too. There was a very acceptable Chicken Cassoulet, one evening. Very nice! Must look up a recipe for that one. Here's the url for next time: Rangeworthy Court Not too many pubs in the local area as an alternative eating venue. There was one at the bottom of the lane but it ... read more

Well hello all. but don't worry too much this time, not much to make you jealous of!!! I started my first day at my new job --- yes a sandwich shop, making you guessed it, sandwiches!! All 9 hours a week, but hey its better than nothing. I also did a trial afternoon at a florist, which was good, she is just trying to figure out how she can use my services to get the best out of the no visa situation?? Hopefully something is sorted out, i would love to work in the industry. I am still looking for more hours elsewhere (Jules mates have offered me work - their slave i think at £2/hour!! nice to offer though). Carli and brendan i am giving your details as reference for waitressing hope you don't mind?!! ... read more
