I keep planning where I am going to be giong... So what are my travel Plans? January/February Firstly I have enrolled in a Safari Field Guide course at the Edeni Game Reserve in South Africa for January. Not that I have any intention of ever becoming a Safari Field guide. Hopefully it will be a good way to get to know the natural environment out there. I get to do fun stuff like driving a 4x4 off raod, navigation, astronomy, tracking game, learning how to recognise the plants and what to use them for, camping in the bush and safety. I then have 3 weeks before I have to be at the Lion Orphanage near Victoria Falls. I’m not quite sure what to do with this time. Do I go into Swaziland and Mozambique? Do I ... read more

Karibu! I am currently in the middle of planning an independent trip through Southern and Eastern Africa and some of the Middle East. I’m hoping that I won’t have to catch a plane home, unless I start to travel across Southern Asia as well (it all depends on the money). Let me tell you abit about my self. I'm 29 and am coming towards the end of my accountancy qualification (I sit my finals in December). I have always wanted to go travelling, but for some reason found an excuse not to go. This is a lovely little town where every single building is the old sandstone from the local quarry. It is beautifully maintained and we both liked it a lot. What I did not like was the rude bombing from the local pidgeons. As we walked ... read more

Well, Colly and I decided that we had had quite enough of London and the stench of city streets, sewers and the Tube. So, headed for Reading with the intent of getting a bit of fresh air. Slept the night at Coly (she snores worse than I do!) and headed for the hills the next morning sort of early. Found our B&B easy enough - tucked away in the back streets of Hungersford, after wending our way thru the village. People pleasant, the chap of the house a hiker of note and full of maps and information. We borrowed a map, got lost, saw lots, and could not identify the beautiful yellow flowering crop! But - it tastes like young broccolai if that helps! What a giggle - we walked up an down dale, got a ... read more
