Two trains, a bus and an hour away is Windsor Castle. Quite impressive. Its a really big place. I mean I knew it was a castle but this place is huge. We arrived just down the hill from where the castle was, by way of bus. The bus came to a stop and most of the people got off. This usually means that is the popular site. Did we get off? Nah. All those people must be wrong. We thought, maybe there is another stop that is closer. Of course there wasn't and we found this out when the bus went around the block and started heading back the way we had come. So we got off at the next stop, which was further away from the castle. All par for the course. Windsor is ... read more

Hello All Here is quick blog just to finally say goodbye to everyone and to show you all how stupid i look without hair. A quick update then, it is now Monday and by Saturday me and Cathy will be in Bangkok but not without injuries. In the last week me and Cathy thought it would be a good idea to walk for 16 miles and as a result i did my knee in. However it is starting to feel better. Cathy then topped me by thinking it would be a good idea to go to a ADVANCED Spinning class. For any of you who have been to one of these no further explanation is needed but to put it simply its 45 minutes of constant cylcling with pressups etc. thrown in the mix. Now Cathy's ... read more

Firstly a HUGE appology to every one. I have been in the bush for the last 4 weeks with almost no electronic equipment what so ever and this is the first opportunity that I've had to do any serious work on the blogs. Whilst I am here I would like to thank by siblings, and my Mum, for helping me get packed, I left it too the last minute and wouldn't have made the plane on time without their help. I would also like too thank Johan and the other staff at Cotwolds in Reading for helping me get my kit together. And by no means least (and I'm cutting it off here or this will turn into an Oscar acceptance speech) the finance guys at BG Group (esp Sheldon) and my freinds for providing me ... read more

I keep planning where I am going to be giong... So what are my travel Plans? January/February Firstly I have enrolled in a Safari Field Guide course at the Edeni Game Reserve in South Africa for January. Not that I have any intention of ever becoming a Safari Field guide. Hopefully it will be a good way to get to know the natural environment out there. I get to do fun stuff like driving a 4x4 off raod, navigation, astronomy, tracking game, learning how to recognise the plants and what to use them for, camping in the bush and safety. I then have 3 weeks before I have to be at the Lion Orphanage near Victoria Falls. I’m not quite sure what to do with this time. Do I go into Swaziland and Mozambique? Do I ... read more

Karibu! I am currently in the middle of planning an independent trip through Southern and Eastern Africa and some of the Middle East. I’m hoping that I won’t have to catch a plane home, unless I start to travel across Southern Asia as well (it all depends on the money). Let me tell you abit about my self. I'm 29 and am coming towards the end of my accountancy qualification (I sit my finals in December). I have always wanted to go travelling, but for some reason found an excuse not to go. Half of me is so excited I can bearly hold a thought in my head. The other half is so terrifed I just want to crawl into bed and sob to myself in silent desperation). However work has been informed, as has the ... read more
