There isn´t much to do on Sundays. I went to the pool with Lisa Marie ( I really need to ask whether she goes by Lisa or Marie) and her friend. They don´t really talk that much though. I went home to take a shower and go to the internet café again. For dinner I didn´t have anything but bread and cheese so I asked Filo if I could heat it up in the microwave to make grilled cheese. or really heated cheese. She grumbled while she did put the sandwhich into the microwave about how I was wasting energy. I think she just likes tp complain. After I ate, she told me I could keep a little bit of food in the fridge as long as it was just me...at least I think that ... read more

The weekend! The American girls have left for the beach until Sunday night, and I forgot to make plans with other people. All that day I devoted to trying to find an internet café. Filo told me directions, but armed with my fantastic understanding of spanish and my natural sense of directions, I didn´t find it. Eventually a woman selling crafts pointed one out to me, which I walked right past but decided to look for again and found it! That´s the reason I had 4 entries to do yesterday. After catching up with everything and everyone, I decided I would buy something good for dinner to make up for me forgetting the American girls weren´t there and not making plans with other people.Leonardo´s was closed, apparently it´s only opened at night. But I saw ... read more

Breakfast: Lemon Cake Muffin. Booking read. Halted conversation with my roommate. She doesn´t talk all that much. Conversation in English with the Americans (mala, yo sé), getting yelled at by Filo for yaka yaka yuka yuka- ing. Lunch at 2:30. Gaspacho. I seem to only reporting the bad meals, but I have to say, for the most part they are delicious (but in very large quantities). All of us, even the Cecile and Lisa Marie, were trying really hard to gag it down. But this time, Filo noticed. She gave us meatballs instead. the gaspacho was just tomatoes soup (cold), nothing else. no Actualy, whole vegetables. It had a very wierd texture, and the coldness added to that made it extremely hard to eat. It also didn´t sit well in one´s stomache. Next. ¡Clase! I ... read more

Breakfast. Lemon Cake Muffin again (like everyday, except for one...which was stale toast, but it was suppose to be stale...). Class was similar to most days. Still a much needed review. I´m learning new vocab. That night we went to the discoteca (Mostly Americans). The group sort of split up, so most of us split up into smaller groups. Lauren needed someone to walk her home because she was tired. I volunteered because it really wasn´t that fun (even Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are the days to be out). So we stopped by Leonardo´s on the way home and had a heart to heart conversation of some delicious patatas fritas in her room. Until Filo came in to yell at me because I wasn´t in my room. So I went to bed.... read more

Day 19....Class...Discoteca....Leonardo´s! Leonardo´s is where everybody goes at night because it´s basically the only place open late at night. A lot of the nights are similar, discoteca. But I THINK that night the friend I was with was dancing with a guy, and the rest of the group disappeared somewhere. I was like okay, third wheel, so I went outside and saw this girl I sort of knew. Mary, she´s from Norway. I spent the rest of the night with her and her friends, a bundle of French, German-French-American, English-French, and Norweign. That´s when I first went to Leornardo´s. Sorry my entries are short. The days are pretty similar. Especially when they are in the past. When I catch up with myself, I´ll blog in more detail.... read more

My second day at the Colegio....hmmm...What did I do? I only have class in the afternoon, so I didn´t wake up until around 12. Filo got mad at me for missing breakfast, so now I wake up at 10 and then go back to bed. But what did I do? Obviously class... I didn´t go to the discoteca that night. Oh! I went to tapas! After class) which ends at 8, I went with Nisha and Christina to 3 tapas (and other people who signed up for it). Afterwards, I walked some way with a friend, and when he left for his street, which I thought was on the way to my house, I got really really lost. I had been there before, I knew, but it turns out, I was there before when I got ... read more

Wow, I haven´t updated this in a while. Sorry, I can´t really do it in the Colegio because we can only use the computers for about 15 minutes at a time between classes. Finally I found an internet café and I´ll be coming here from now on. It´s only 1€ an hour. I don´t if I can even remember exactly what happened so long ago... I woke up at 7:45 because I had to be at school at 8:30 for my placement test. Breakfast was these little lemon cake muffins, that are SO good, and hot chocolate! It´s my kind of breakfast. Then Filo, our host mom, walked me and the other new girl (Cecile, from France) to the college. It was almost completely straight the whole way there. We got there, got a binder and ... read more

Same as most days (went on a hike for free choice). Grey team tied this time for 1st place with the black team, but we still won overall. Instead of a soda, we got to choose out of ´the prize bag´. It was pretty cheesey stuff. I got a beaded purple tulip that is a candle holder....I´m never gonna use it. That night´s actuivity was a british tradition on I think Sundays. At the bar, people come to take a quiz. But it´s not just any quiz. It´s a quiz on every subject and within every subject, very unknown, odd things. It was actually really fun. Hardly anyone stayed after, because, well, it was a quiz. But it was still a lot of fun!... read more

Well yesterday morning we all decided to hell with Portugal and climbed on the buses and drove to Spain. It was a hell of a busy road we saw two cars in the first half hour of the trip. Passed through a few small towns one with a little mini bull ring a Roman bridge and dry stone walls from the 12 century. Also lots of storks in nest with babies on the top of power poles bell towers etc. They look so funny because they were so big. After two hours we arrived at Salamanca. Fortunately we were positioned at a nice hotel to use as a rescue centre as it was 30 degrees. What a beautiful city so clean and pretty. It has about 160,000 people 50,000 of whom are students at the very ... read more
