This morning we left the albergue rather late at 8:30 or so because Raresh and the young couple wanted to see the sunrise from the castle. Unfortunately, it was rather foggy so I doubt it was anything special. I waited below at the Albergue to watch their backpacks. Not far outside Castrojeriz we began a very long, very steep climb. At the top they had a very welcome rest area. After a fairly long and fairly steep descent, we encountered an old albergue called Albergue San Nicolas, where I gladly used their restroom. This is also where we left Alex, for some unknown reason he stayed there and Livija continued on with us. Also, I am pretty sure the bridge next to the albergue over the Rio Pisuerga is the bridge in the movie The Way where Martin Sheen sat down, and undid his backpack, which promptly fell off into the river. He had to run down, swim after it, hang his wet stuff on trees, and spend the night in the open. Fortunately, nothing like that happened to us.
Having walked something like 10 kilometers, we entered the little town of Itero de la Vega, where we stopped for
breakfast at the Bar Cafe Puente Fitero. They didn't have any tortilla de Patatas, so I had a tuna sandwich and 2 fried eggs. When we left the town, Raresh and Livija slowed down a lot, and I ended up walking the 8 kilometers to Boadillo pretty much alone. The only place interesting for lunch (since our destination today was Fromista, another 6 kilometers ahead and it was almost 2pm) was the Albergue Titas, I decided to stop and wait for them. When they didn't show in 10 minutes, I ordered some spaghetti and started to eat. Raresh showed up when I was almost finished and had a sandwich. Livija showed up a few minutes later.
When we started to leave town, Livija was having trouble with her heel again, so Raresh asked me to walk ahead at my pace, gave me their Pilgrim credentials, and asked me to reserve beds for them. A kilometer or two outside of Boadilla, the trail started following a canal. Right off the bat I spotted an otter swimming across the canal, but couldn't get my camera out in time. A couple of kilometers later, I entered Fromista, after crossing the canal. It
is a pretty good-sized town. We were planning on staying at the Albergue Canal de Castilla, and just after passing under the train tracks, I saw the sign for the albergue. It is nice enough, with a decent restaurant where they serve a pilgrim's dinner for an extra 5 euros, but it is literally right next to the train tracks. I checked in, paid for the 3 of us, and stowed my gear. Raresh and Livija showed up quicker than I expected and we decided to get the dinner for 5 euros extra.
Livija had leftover pasta, so they only paid for one dinner to split. We ate at about 7:30. I wanted the vegetable soup, but they were out, so I got the chicken soup instead. For my 2nd, I got the fish.
Tomorrow I think we are heading to Carrion de Los Condes.
**I am having trouble uploading photos. I will try again tomorrow.

I like your comment after 10 km we stopped for breakfast...
for me it would have been after 10 km I stopped for the day! Especially after climbing up and down that steep hill.
