Nous avons passe la journée de dimanche sur Lady K, le voilier de Kostas Nous avons. commence par traverser jusqu’à Iraklia, avec pause baignade dans une crique où s’est écrasé un avion pendant le seconde guerre mondiale Puis nous avons longé la falaise et traversée jusqu’à une crique de l’ile voisine (Skinoussa ?) pour une nouvelle baignade et le déjeuner, aux côtés de véritables bateaux de luxe Puis nous remontons le long de Naxos avant une dernière baignade et la traversée du retour, en mode penché : une excellente journée, qui nous a plutôt rassurés quant au fait d’avoir renoncé à une semaine complète de voile... read more

We had planned our itinerary to include a 10 day break in Crete to meet up with Megan and her friend. Unfortunately for various reasons Meg was unable to join us, naturally we were very disappointed. However, we decided to make use of the apartments booked in two locations, Gournes in the North East and Rethymno in the North west . Crete was surprisingly cooler than the main land with an ‘unusually high wind’... according to the holiday rep. (We later found that the wind here is quite common in August, known as the Meltemi). It was the first ‘weather’ we had encountered for several months, and we had a balcony overlooking the sea in our first apartment, which was just great for watching the waves and sunsets. As Del woke him up, Gkee looked at his watch. It was 4.30am - there was still another hour-and-a-half til they were meant to all get up - what was Del playing at? He of all people would never wake up this early - they all needed as much sleep as they could. This was when he realised that Del and Sags had actually just got back from wherever they were partying. An hour and a half later, Gkee had real trouble getting the other two up. "Yeah, I'm awake" mumbled Sags, before immediately settling back into a snore.
