No ash clouds or misbehaving volcanoes were out to spoil our flights to Berlin. After a quick afternoon nap we were out to see one of Europe´s great cities. Construction is a never-ending process and each time that we return there are many changes. The new modern cathedral near the bombed ruins of an old cathedral had been completed and the Brandenburg Gate was cleaned and freshly painted. A stop at the Pergamon Museum is always a "must see" for us. The Altar of Zeus and the Babyalonian Ishtar Gate are two of our favotite ancient exhibits. KaDeWe, the giant department store, was filled with interesting and delicious treats. We always seem to by pass the clothes, etc. on the first five floors and go directly to the food market on the sixth floor. It´s like ... read more
