Its New Year’s Eve today but more importantly its Brett and Alana’s mountain wedding and the day could not have been more perfect. The sky was such a brilliant blue that it looked like a movie back drop. You could almost see the crispness in the air. I started by going for a quick ski with Mel. Actually it was only one run but it was early morning on a beautiful, groomed corduroy run so we had to make a very hard decision to leave and go get ready for a wedding. Back at the chalet Alana was looking every bit the beautiful blushing bride. After all getting ready with a glass of champagne in hand, Alana donned her beautiful wedding dress for the second time and we took some photos. She looked so stunning, happy ... read more

Not only was today officially Brett's buck’s and Alana's hen’s day, it was also Edyn’s 1st birthday. What an amazing achievement...mostly for us but kind of for Edyn as well! It’s been such a wonderful year and she is such a beautiful, amazing girl whom we love so, so dearly. She’s taken a few steps and I don’t think it will be long before we’re calling her a toddler. We love you Eda-boo! This morning after lots of cuddles for our baby girl, off the boys went for a crazy skiing day, with Brett dressed in a fantastic 80’s ski suit complete with zinc, a la Squirrel from Hot Dog the ski movie, of which the boys are die hard fans. And just to make sure people knew, they made him wear some tightie-whities (undies) on ... read more

Today started a little overcast but that was just the weather and Brett, Jas and I went to explore the Valley’s again. We wanted to go as far as Courcheval. This sounds a lot easier than it actually is. It took us about an hour and half to make it to Courcheval but which time we were long overdue for a coffee break. We found a great little patisserie that was the perfect place to stop. After a caffeine boost we went to meet Mel at La Tania for lunch. La Tania is an amazing quaint village with chalet’s overlooking the ski runs. We ended up meeting at Bouc Bleu restaurant where we had a fantastic hot lunch complete with a pichet de vin rouge (a pitcher of red wine). In the afternoon we left Mel ... read more

Boxing day started with a mad dash to pack everything before having to vacate our wonderful apartment. We got on the road and headed south to the Alps. Our skiing odyssey, for which we had planned for months was about to begin. Thankfully we were all so buzzed about the week to come, because no sooner had we entered the motorway, than we drew to a halt. The holiday traffic heading to the Alps on Boxing Day was tragic. The motorway was a car park, there were mountains of toll booths and what should have taken 3 hours, took 5! But we couldn’t be disheartened! We were just happy to be surrounded by white stuff! We eventually made it by early afternoon and were certainly not disappointed. The village of St Martin De Belleville is one ... read more
