When I set the Dyson, the route here took us on the motorway north via Turin then down to Embrun which wasn't in the plan at all. So we chose another route, shorter, more time consuming but through the country & what a great decision it was too! I know that it's only 3 months since we've seen the Alps, but this road was one of the, if not the best we have ever been on. Part of it was La Grande Route des Alps apparently. Rained all night but stopped when we got up so optimistically dressed in suntop and shorts. Soon added a cardigan. Collected the bread from reception and had breakfast just as the rain started again. Got my book and went back to bed in disgust! Fortunate that Bob woke me after I had snoozed off as the quilt was getting rained on from the half open rooflight. He woke me to suggest we moved on. What a great idea. Packed everything away, paid up and left. Noticed most others were leaving too – they were all windsurfers and rather obvious that not much wind surfing was going to be done today.
