The last city on tour, and the one most people were looking forward to. Thankfully the drive was not that long. Only a couple of hours. We stopped for lunch in Orleans. We had burgers from Quick (like Maccas). We’ve sure had a lot of burgers while we’ve been away! After lunch we did some grocery shopping and looked around the shops. The traffic came once we hit the Paris area. We saw 3 accidents in the space of 20 mins. It’s crazy! Actually yesterday in Poitiers we saw a guy parallel park between 2 cars and hit the one behind him. He didn’t even care. Todd and I walked past with our mouths open. It was more than just a scratch! We finally arrive at our Paris hotel (another Ibis). It’s a HUGE hotel but ... read more

Seeing as we accomplished the majority of the 'must do's' the day before we slept in, waking up at 9.30am ish. After a quick breakfast we met up the brits again at the Musee de Rodin, this time actually going into the museum. The first sculpture we saw was 'Le Penser' aka 'The Thinker' placed amid the gorgeous garden complete with stellar roses and other flowers (I'm not good at saying which flower is which). Behind the museum/mansion is the main garden, where a wedding reception was being set up (ideal for a wedding), tons more sculptures. Went inside the mansion, really intriguing work. It boggles my mind how one artist could do so much work, just one piece would take a long time. From here we headed to Sacre Coeur. Now, there is a metro-related ... read more

When we aoke up, and by woke up I mean sat up since Heather kept me up all night with her snoring and coughing, we determined that Heather needed to see a doctor. She has been a little sick the whole trip, and it was about time. She decided I should go out for the day alone, and she had the doctor to come to the hotel, she got medicine, and now she doing a lot better. I went off by myself all day, but I just pretty much listened to my Ipod the whole time. Paris by day is not scary, and I was never off the main streets. After I spent an hour trying to find an ATM, since Heather knows the French in this pair, I stopped at the Ferrari store, then it ... read more

然後摸上Pantheon(先賢祠,法國名人大多葬於此),的確莊嚴肅穆,一邊行一邊想:將來Zidane可以入住嗎? ... read more

We had a loose plan as to our day's sightseeing goals. We accomplished it almost all in this day. We said screw it, it's a nice day, let's walk everywhere, so we did. Our hotel was a 20 min walk to the arch de triomphe. Man, what a way to start a day, breaktaking. Oh, I must mention on the way there we started busted out a rap with all the french words we knew with some beatboxing, quite hilarious. From the Arch we walked to Trocodero, walked up the steps and BAM right there is Eiffel Tower, perfectly aligned with it. Right there it really hit me, we were in Paris, Paris! Took some pics then headed on over to the Eiffel, stopping for a much deserved Ice Cream on the way. Got in line ... read more

I really love it here. It's getting warmer and I'm getting over my sickness. Unfortanitly it got so back that I had to start my antibiotics but now I'm feeling so much better and hopefully will be all better by Friday and Berlin as I will be staying in a house with a brand new baby. I really wish that this computer allowed me to hook up my camera so I could bombard you with the 254 pictures I've already taken but I guess I will just have to be descriptive instead. On Saturday we took the metro into Paris and headed up to Notre Dame. Obvsiouly it was gorgeous and breathtaking but I hadn't really realized that we were in Paris until I was standing at the very top (after about 300 winding stairs) and ... read more

We got in on our SkyEurope flight (which eclipsed EasyJet qs my favorite airline) about 30 minutes early. We took the long train trip from Paris Orly airport to downtown Paris, switched metro lines twice, and finally reached the area near the Arc de Triomphe. Side note, I want to apologize for any typos, because as in all of Europe, the keyboards are different, and the letters are all over. Anyways, as soon as I got off the Metro, our thoughts of the French people were proved wrong within 10 seconds. We were looking at our map, and a father and a son stopped and without hesitating, helped us to find the Hilton Arc de Triomphe. Granted it was only like 100 yards away; but they were so nice and helpful, not the rude and snobby ... read more

Okay well last time I left you I was one mountain sick girl, but I am happy to report that the city of Love, Lights, Art, Crepes and Baguettes is helping to cure my longing. This place truly is all of the things above...I can't count the number of couples I have seen having romantic moments or the number of men I have seen carrying flowers to deliver to girlfriends, boyfriends, mothers or whatever; the Eifel Tower sparkles with lights every night at 9, 10, 11 and 12 pm; the Louvre alone has enough art to occupy any art lover for years adn then there is the Musee d'Orsay and random bridges across the Seine decorated with art exhibitions and there are crepes and baguettes on EVERY corner!!! (Mel, Alyssa and Blair, I went back to ... read more
