Forget common security, trade, economic or cultural interests. I think the greatest way to promote warm relations between two countries and their citizens is for one country to have one of its own marry into the royal family of the other. This is a big concession to make for an ardent anti-royalist like me, but as an Aussie visiting Denmark, one can't help but feel that the proof is in the pudding. Danes seem to love Australians, and we love them back. If you are an Australian and you don't, well, wake up to yourself.
