Sune... read more

Zaterdagochtend, net licht. Verkansie!

Hi Everyone Well, now I am about to leave Århus to embark on my trip out in the world and hopefully also into myself. Tuesday afternoon my friend Jimmy will drive me to Billund airport and from there it is "short" flight to Kuala Lumpur. I will have a couple of days there before I fly to Banda Aceh on Sumatra and take a boat to Pulau Weh which is my first real destination. At Lumbalumba I will get my divers certificate. According to my friends Jens and Anna it should be an ideal place to do this. I decided on Indonesia before consulting anyone, but after having talked with friends it sounds like the ideal place to go! The purpose of this blog I will use this blog to keep you all posted about where ... read more

Sorry guys that I havnt written on here for a while, I really have been busy, infact busier than normal. I have gotten a life ow and am not at home much, in fact my host parents constintly find themselves telling me to stay home for a night to give me a break. So since my last blog I attended another Konfirmation. Thias time it was very different in the personal level. We got dressed up really nice again and I enjoyed the time with my host sister getting ready doing each others hair. So this time because it was a family member and not a family friend we went to the church and watch the Konfirmation part unfold. It was very different. When your Konfirmee is being Konfirmed with the class your family stands up ... read more

Hello again! Since I've gotten home from Barcelona, I've been mostly planning for my quickly upcoming summer. However, I'll give you the highlights :) The end of April was fairly relaxed, just going to school and "doin' my thing" The May weather in Denmark is very...unpredictable. Some days it is warm and sunny, and others it's raining and actually quite cold. However, my friends and I take full advantage of the warm and sunny days, and looking forward to more ahead. Something I have noticed about Danes, is that discussing the weather isn't just a "filler" for conversations. It's actually something frequently and seriously discussed. On May 2nd, a GSE team of 6 Americans from Missouri visited our Rotary Club. I accompanied them as we showed them some highlights of Aarhus, including the Queens Summer Residence ... read more

"At rejse er at leve" - H.C. Andersen. "To travel is to live" - H.C. Andersen. Since my last post, I've been slightly busy ;) The last week in March we had Easter Break. We went and visited my host dad's parents which was very cosy :) They also showed me Legoland, which was epic of course. :) We also visited my host mom's parents at their summer house, which was of course beautiful. My host family took me to Copenhagen where we saw Louisianna (an art museum) I went shopping with my host mom, and we took a canal tour of Copenhagen. The sun was shining, so the canal tour was absolutely beautiful, and I got to see a lot of Copenhagen. Then on April 11th, my class and I left for a week in ... read more

8 Months SO sorry for not having any update for about 4 months, MY BAD, ill give you the update now. though I have a feeling something is going to get missed. Okay, so my birthday was December 10th, and it was pretty good. We had a “traditional” Danish birthday with rolls, random snack foods and hot chocolate. I learned its more of a traditional children’s birthday but it was still nice, having my friends over, then we had a big dinner with my family, and My counselor Henriks family, it was really nice and overall a good birthday. The Next day, Friday, I went to Hjørring to see my best friend Juan. He’s an exchange student from Florida, and decided to help me celebrate my birthday. It was a good weekend. Next is Christmas, we ... read more

Spring is starting, and so now my schedule is becoming even busier... Since my last update, I have paid for my school trip to Barcelona (which begins on April 11th) And I've also paid for my 3 week Euro Tour which begins in late May. I do not have the words to describe how excited I am for both of these trips! So much has been happening in the past month, and it all goes by so quickly, so I will try to just go over the highlights. We had a "Get2gether" weekend with all 200 exchangers in Copenhagen. The theme for this Get2gether was "Fitness" Rotary organized classes for us including yoga, aquatics, BodyPump, and Spinning. We worked out during the day and hung out with each other at night. It was very cozy and ... read more
