Dubrovnik October 1st London, Gatwick was easy and efficient. We didn't have to officially arrive in the country but were able to go through another security check into the transit area of the airport. Here Judy lost a small pair of scissors that were in the medical pouch that she had moved from check in to hand luggage before leaving Mexico.(due to still not feeling well) They had already been through 2 American Airline checks without being found - ridiculous isn't it? Arrival in Dubrovnik was also a breeze. Officials took a quick look at our passports and we quickly moved to where our luggage was already waiting before going through the doors and seeing Peter and Rachel immediately! After a few days in Zadar and our trip out to Plitvice National Park, we hopped on a bus for the two hour trip to Sibenik. As the bus drove into Sibenik through these communist style, ugly high rises and dirty streets, I might have mumbled “Adam, please can we not get off the bus”. But Adam wasn’t listening and dragged me off the bus promising it had to get better than the bus station…. And it was. Once we rounded the corner and out onto the waterfront I changed my mind - the place seemed pretty nice and by the time we reached the old town I was loving the place! Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Phoebe Here!! We have spent 5 days on this ship and so far have been to Katakolon, Izmir And Istanbul. Today we are getting off at Dubrovnik. Our ship is called Msc Orchestra. Its HUGE. In Katakolon we went to the first Olympic stadium. It was awesome. I didn’t get off at Izmir and I spent the day on the ship lazing about! The next day we went to the grand bazaar. It was like a huge indoor mall. I wanted to get some Turkish slippers but they had none in my size. =. Yesterday was spent a sea and we saw some one carving veggies. Every night we watch a show in the theartre on the ship. Its Really cool. There are many difficulties while traveling. Most are not the difficult to deal with. They are minor things like, Will I find a place to sleep? Will this bus/train be full? Will I get pickpocketed in this city? See, terribly minor things that are truly not life or death...But let me enlighten you on the truly life or death question you ask yourself every day..... Will this bathroom have Toilet Paper? Now I do not know about you, but when I walk into a bathroom, I have never truly looked for toilet paper. I just always assumed it would be there. Assumed that when it was needed it was free of charge. Maybe you have as well (I got a suspicion the ladies who are reading this might have a different view then me.). First things first: I apologise for the blatant alliteration in the title - that's just a corny, clichéd crack at comedy. So, from Budapest I took a train ride to Zagreb. I really don't know what i was thinking when i thought I'd just jump on the train at 5pm. I didn't know exactly how long the trip would take, but i knew it wasn't going to be a convenient arrival time to Croatia's capital. Nevertheless, i jumped on the train, and rocked up to Zagreb at the ungodly hour of 12 midnight. Naturally, everything was closed - I've had enough travelling experience to expect this anyway.
