Ah, now I can leave happy. I wanted to see a monkey before I came home and I would have stayed until I saw one. A few weekends ago Steve and I headed to the Pacific coast to a small town called Quepos. Quepos is well known for its ability to provide incredible sport fishing opportunities but is also becoming a more populated area due to its proximity to Manuel Antonio. This area should be on your top 10 places to visit in Costa Rica. The beaches are fantastic and the Manuel Antonio National Park is phenomenal. Once we got to Quepos we looked at our map to see where our hostel was at and then began to hike. The area is actually quite hilly and it was pretty humid that day. We ended up making ... read more

We woke up ready to start our vacation. We went into Quepos to get some food and check out the town. We ate at Cafe Milagro and had the best breakfast that we have ever had. After some shopping we went back to our hotel to get ready for the beach. It was the first time I have ever been to the ocean and I had a great time. After Christina and I got some good sunrays we rented some boogie boards instead of going parasailing(too expensive and afraid of heights). I had so much fun until I took a big gulp of the salt water and felt like I was going to throw up. I kept myself from getting sick and bought a beer to settle my stomach. I tried to get a tan but ... read more

Once we made to San Jose we had the task of getting to Manuel Antonio. It took us forever to get out of customs and we had to catch a cab to the bus station. We met this nice man who took us there, we barely made it alive. The traffic was horrible (Rush Hour) and there were motorcycles that flew in between the cars. Over here a blinker means nothing, if you want to get over you have to make some moves. When we made it to the bus station we were a bit scared. The ticket office was closed and it was getting late. Luckily we met somebody that helped us out. His name was Hairul and he owned a bar in Quepos which is right next to Manuel Antonio. We caught the last ... read more

Lately I've gotten into this blog thing, therefore, I really want to share my scuba diving adventure when I was in Costa Rica. I visited alot of the country. I tried scuba diving for the first time while I was in Manuel Antonio with Manuel Antonio Divers. It was so cool breathing underwater with all this equipment. The instructor was right there to offer all the help that I needed. I saw turtles out in the ocean, white tip sharks, zebra eels it was so cool. Now I will go ahead and get my certification so I can dive any where I travel in the world. Manuel Antonio Divers gave me my start and they really opened up a whole new world for me. The rest of the country is awesome, they have some great coffee ... read more

Saturday 15th - Wednesday 19th Just a brief run down as i'm on the clock! Will fill in more details soon! Saturday - long day of travelling to San Jose, Costa Rica. Just chilled at a hostel. Sunday - Met up with my cousin Jon and we got a tiny but colourful plane to Manuel Antonio near Quepos on the south west coast of Costa Rica. Afternoon was spent in the sea and watching the sun set followed by a great meal of Wasabi and Mahi Mahi (fish! i usually hate it!) and drinks at a local bar listening to some very cheesy classic rock! Monday - Got the bus down the road and then walked to a very secluded beach area where I did some fantastic snorkling. I was hovering round the coast area but ... read more

We've missed a few days, so we need to fill you all in. Internet is intermitant so please forgive us if we have to lie in the sun and TAN rather than fill your sad asses in on our travel escapades. After failing to enter the interenet site we traveled the rocks to OUR beach. You have to go early and be very careful as you crawl over the slippery, mounding spikey rock formations to the hidden beach in Manual Antonio. We met our new friends Gorgio and Bertrand from Vancouver BC. Naked and lying in the sun JIll found it hard to stop staring at a certain part of the anatomny but was pleased to see how well "groomed they were". We compared tats and took pics The three of them lined up G&B showing ... read more
