House waiting for Reno
Rob, in my day, leaving the house in an unfinished state was a major tax evasion measure that was practiced by half the country!

Jill
Still the same scenario. The houses are often in a semi permanent state of renovation. The stairway to nowhere and the reo bar are intriguing though.

Swimming
Noone was swimming. Isn't that allowed? The lakes look magnificent!

Swimming?
Looks good, is bad! Bad for the lake’s system as it destroys the bottom and consequently the delicate eco balance.

Thanks. Same, same. Very much looking forward to our walks. We have the Juliana Trail in Slovenia and 2 shorter walks in Greece, one in the Peloponese region and one on Crete. Plan to blog and send photos when I can.

Changing of the guard.

Changing of the guard
We loved this ceremony and visited a couple of times, but sadly couldn't make it on a Sunday when they have the parade. Glad to read that you love Athens too :)

Athens
I'm looking forward to reading your blogs on your experiences in Athens. We have just returned home from a trip to Greece and have just started posting our blogs... unlike many others, Athens was a favourite for us :) Safe Travels. Cheers, Ren

Such an amazing city to explore
Hi Rob and Lee, hope you Porto as much as we did. I took some amazing photos early morning on the river before the crowds arrived - quite mystical. There is so much to see. We stayed just up from the River on the north side in the R. de Sao Jaoa. The south side has lovely wine tastngs - a must do. By now you will have seen the besutiful tiled foyer of the train station. The pastries and coffee are to die for. Enjoy xx Gay

Porto
All true. Porto is quite lovely, the station beautiful (and more so as the images are explained) and the coffee and tarts delightful (and I don’t mean Lee!).

My Northcott ancestors...
lived in Chagford. I had a pleasant visit there in May 2019. The church is of particular interest.

"Well, we can go for a walk, where it's quiet and dry, and talk about precious things..."
I'm afraid that title is really only coincidentally related to your trip. If needed, you can google the lyrics quoted. Oh, to be in England precisely when one great monarch dies, and another (another monarch strictly, maybe not-so-great?!) takes the throne! Lots of great qualities are said to skip a generation, no? I'm guessing this might all be followed with louder cries from both camps: "Long live the monarchy!" and "It was fun while it lasted, but it's time to move on!" Looking forward to your Aussie take on it. My best to you and Julie in your treks. Carry on, Sir! MG

Anderson has his suspicions
Anderson says it is very suspicious that Grandy took a wrong turn and ended up on a golf course!

Clever comments Anderson. But really a coincidence. I have been having wild blackberries everyday and I think of you when I pick them.
