Geo: 18.7836, 99.0002Tried to contact the ANZ today but no luck so will wait until I get back to Australia.Went for a walk this morning a bit of a breeze but at 11.30am Temperature is in the high 30's. Mick has withdrawals not having any icy poles which at home he eats at least two boxes off a day. Tried the ice-cream at the Hotel Cafe, just beautiful, he will be right now!Picked up by the bus from the Mae Ping River Cruise 1 1/2hrs before the cruise starts. Saw parts of Chaing Mai we had not seen picking up people from different Hotels. Met up with Michelle and John from Hong Kong who have invited us to contact them when we go to Hong Kong, John will drive us around, sounds good. The Cruise was ... read more

Geo: 18.7833, 99Up late had breakfast and went for a walk to see if someone could help me change the extension on my photos. No luck came back to the Hotel and tried the Travelpod App on my phone, no problem the photos uploaded. Been really frustrating.  Hope everyone enjoys the Easter break, we ran into people from Cranbourne this morning in the lift and they were off to Kosumui tomorrow for their daughters wedding, they also love this place and the people. Had lunch at the Chinese Restaurant which was an eat as much as you want, very nice but expensive (700THB) $25 for both of us.  My Meal Card would not work so checked the account when we came back to the Hotel and it plus my Salary Sacrifice Card have both been compromised.   Looks like ANZ ... read more

Geo: 18.8021, 98.9673We were amazed this morning, Mick was reading the Herald Sun outside the Hotel while having a cigarette and the staff quickly set up a table in front of him full of food for the Monks that arrived.  He snapped a quick photo not sure if it would be aloud or disrespectful and the Monks filled there bowls they carry which is the food they are given, for the day by the people, then walked inside to the Restaurant where we have breakfast, but they were in a room separated from us and the staff were very busy making them comfortable and making sure they had everything they wanted to eat and drink.9am we were sitting outside again and Bird turned up, pushy little guy wanting us to go with him then.  We went ... read more

Geo: 18.8021, 98.9673Outside the Hotel this morning was the lady with the birds so Mick thought it appropriate for him to release some for us to have a safe trip home, after what happened yesterday in Brussels, very sad when innocent people are caught up in these incidents and great to see life going on as well. Finally tried on my suit, a shirt, which is one of three, skirt and trousers, amazing really happy and will pick up tomorrow. Do you think I got out of their without Sunny doing a deal of an extra two skirts and a pair of slacks for $150, Mick helped by saying you will not get a deal like this again, get them!We came back to the Hotel and booked a Dinner Cruise for Friday night on the Ping River.Went ... read more

Geo: 18.8021, 98.9673We had a great time last night at the Bazaar both of us having a fish spa while we waited for the Cabaret to start. The costumes where amazing and the Lady boys put on a brilliant show, unfortunately my phone was not good at getting photo's with the light being too bright. We had King Prawns for tea and I spent most of the night awake they really did not agree with me, going back to Moo Moo tonight have never had a problem with the food from there. We both tried a bit of Durrian last night and really did not think much of it and my god it stank, the Thai people love it and describe it as tasting like heaven and smelling like hell, Wow not wrong!Bird picked us up ... read more

Geo: 18.8021, 98.9673We went to the Tailor and he had not done anything yet so I tried on my skirt for him to adjust and we will see him at 11am Wednesday. Caught a Tuk Tuk to the old city and found the Thai Farm Cooking School booked for the 27th March they will pick us up at 8.30am - 4pm. Then caught another Tuk Tuk to the Dentist who was very hard to find, the driver had to find other Tuk Tuk drivers to ask so after 1/2 hour looking we finally found it. Natalee had given me the name and address for them, she and her hubby get there teeth done here and they are very good. $15.00 for a filling and I was quoted at home $200 - $250, so both of us ... read more

Geo: 18.8, 98.98Started with a leisurely breakfast at 8.30am,wanted to relax after the trip, so went across to the Massage Palor and had a Neck, Shoulder and back massage with me adding a hand massage, wow it was brilliant. A lady who looked like she was from Mary Poppins, was selling for 80 Baht sparrows she would release to ensure we had a safe trip home! Mick had 15 minutes to wait for me so in the same area he found the shop that sells cashmere and silk rugs (no that is not all) he also found a tailor Sunni so when I came out we went and saw Sunni with me walking out getting a Jacket, skirt, pants and 3 shirts made. Fitting tomorrow and he will take in the 2 skirts I had made ... read more

Geo: 18.8, 98.98We were being picked up tonight at 6pm from the Hotel to the airport so Mick went for a smoke and as usual there were Tuk Tuks, Trucks and Taxi's outside. He asked a woman driver about taking us to the Orchid and Butterfly Farm she said it was only 30 minutes from Chaing Mai and would take us for 800 Baht ($31 for the day). We had to book out of the Hotel at 12pm and Porn was waiting for us with lots of suggestions for us to do. Luckily Mick told her we needed to be back at the Hotel at 3pm, but on the way she showed us her book of attractions and the Tiger Kingdom looked great which she said we had plenty of time to do and would drop ... read more

Geo: 18.8, 98.98We were picked up at 1pm and ventured into one of the largest mountains in Thailand, the road towards the top was not the best so we changed to a truck because the road was very narrow and full of pot holes. Mona did not tell us how narrow the roads were and it was busy with people in cars, on bikes and in buses we held our breath a few times because there was not much room to get pass. The first stop was the village school of the White Meo Hilltribe, the King was responsible for the school being built for the local children. The King and Queen of Thailand are adored by the people but has no power and yet managed to influence the government to get this done, with running ... read more
