home at last. Glad to see you are home safe. Glad you enjoyed your adventure. Sad that after so many great bakeries and coffee shops you finished with a poor coffee at subway. Thanks for sharing your adventure with me. I have enjoyed it very much. Ours continues today as we head south from Mt.Isa. Stay well.
Welcome Home Eoin and Gail,

Regards
Graeme
Almost Home Your adventure is nearly over. I bet you are looking forward to home and some creature comforts. I also bet you have some memories that will stay with you forever. Well done to both of you for the effort and sense of adventure. Hearing you talk about last days and homes has made me a little home sick too. I'll be over it tomorrow when I wake to 26 degrees and sunshine in Mt.Isa rather than the weather at home. Still a few months and lots more new things to see in QLD for me. Make the last day a safe one and enjoy a well earned rest.
Spirits sound high It's great to hear you sounding so chipper and upbeat witht he great riding and relatively good weather. I hope it continues. It's great isn't it tyravelling without a set agenda so you can adapt to weather and desires. It seems so long since we've been in a big down that your talk about Bendigo made me a little jealous and home sick. Tomorrow we are of to dip out toe in NT (just a photo op) and then off to MT.Isa for a few days. Cheers stay well.
PS, sorry I got a few blogs behind. I was in the dark zone.
A nice change Glad to see the weather and the locals are traeting you well. I personally have never had any trouble with the real bikies, ususally it's the pretenders that cause us more mature riders problems. Must be nice to be riding those lovely Victorian back roads. We left Adels Grove this morning for 250klm of dirt and arrived at Camooweal on the NT border to clean the dust and fix the damage caused by the horrendous dirt roads. But at least its still warm. We free camped tonight and sat by the billabong at Camooweal and watched the sunset with a wine and 26 degerees. Stay safe.
Lost in No-Mans-Land Sporry guys I've been in the Internet dark zone for a week or so and just catching up with email. Funny to hear you shivering, it was 28 degeress at 10.30 this morning in Adels Grove at Lawn Hill. Glad you changed from Ballarat. No real loss there. I didn't enjoy it much. Hope the weather at least dries up for you if not get warmer.
A bit of excitement on this leg of the trip?! They were only Rebels - they're easy beats, especially when you had their group split into two. If only you were 21 again - you would have out run them LOL!
The biggest I love the way small country towns market themselves. But I think the whole biggest theme is getting a bit tired. The riding sounds great and the weather fine, at least for a while. You guys seem to have been out for a long time, how much time do you have left? We are halfway across to the gulf. No cold weather here. Stay safe.
Make hay while the sun shines. I love the inventiveness of small aussie towns in creating unique attractions. But I think the biggest theme has probably run its race. Hope the weather picks up for you. It must be getting cold down there now. We are off to Normanton on the gulf via the Savannah Way today. We have left all our travelling companions and flying solo now.
A bit behind Sorry I have got a bit behind but Internet has been hard to get up here. Funny listening to your talk of cold, we had 31 yesterday with an overnight minimum of 23. Havent had long pants, jumper or blanket on for over 5 weeks so far. Heading for Cairns tomorrow before going west to the gulf. Stay dry and safe.
Back to your best. It's good to hear you had such a good day. Sounds like riders and bikes are back to their best condition. If you get far enough west at a later date you should check out the history of the water pipeline from Perth to Kalgoorlie. Made for a different reason to the ones you are seeing, but amazing none the less. Would never have happened but for the gold and still supplies water today. I am hearing so many little town names from your travels, I have started to look them up, some are amazing. We did Thursday Island today. Great history but a little third world. We bumped the local TI copper at the cape york tip yesterday and he had some tales to tell. Wild West stuff. Just a young bloke and his (also copper) wife. They love the place but say the work can be a labour sometimes. Keep travelling safe.
Is Blanchtown the politically correct name for Blacktown? Yes, I knew about the Murray being the 3rd longest river - some things from 6th Class just seem to stick in the memory bank.
Main thing - you're both still having a great time!
Happy Times It's good to sound you sounding so chipper again. It only takes one or two good days. It's good to get an education about OZ. you are in territory now that I haven't been in, so let me know what the area is like. We go to Thursday Island tomorrow after the tip of Cape York yesterday. Saturday it's off to Weipa and then further south and then west to Normanton and Karumba.
Henry needs a rest It's a shame Henry keeps getting so tired. I bet there was big pressure on the hill start wit lots of people and the ferry master watching. I'm sure you did a professional job. I love the countryside down along the Murray. Doesn't sound like the accommodation is much good. You should see it up here. Everythong is relative, we see past the rust and other crap just because there is hot water. We reached the absolute tip of the cape today after an hour or so on very ordinary dirt roads and a few creek crossings. Stay safe.
KEEPING IN TOUCH Hi Guys,
We have been keeping up to date with your travels. Have not posted a comment before so I hope it works. Sounds like you are having a lot of fun. I must have a look at a map of SA to see where you actually are. Happy and safe travels.
Sound a little road weary It sure sounds like the cards are stacked against you in SA. Maybe you are getting a little road weary or home sick. I have had that on long trips, but always find that it only takes one good riding day or a couple of good weather days to bring the spirits up again. I hope that the weather clears, the wind subsides and you find a few Aussie gems of towns along the banks of the Murray. We are with four other SC Ulyssians at Cooktown tonight. Tomorrow we head further up the cape and start tenting it after leaving the vans and civilisation behind. Good luck to you guys tomorrow.
