The forecast of poor weather proved correct and Eoin had a small ride through a short window of opportunity, so Heidi got a bir of a charge. The next day started out with clear blue skies, alas about 9am, it turned "normal" for Hamilton. Packing up, we were watched by another happy camper, who we thought wanted to adopt us. Strange chap, but a little comedy relief.

The trailer was packed up just as a little drizzle started, another good start. Our intended destination was Ballarat. It was quite a chilly morning, brrr & grrr. One of us, was suffering windchill effects and the other had to turn the heater down. We got as far as Dunkeld when the moungain view cafe beckomed, with its roaring log fire and smell of freshly brewed coffee.

We ordered two steaming hot coffees and luxuriated in the warmth. As one does, we chatted to the staff whilst waiting and informed them of our destination. They obviously had seen how cold one of us was, and the four of them burst out laughing at our choice. They told us that Ballarat, apart from the snowfields, was the coldest place in Victoria and Hamilton was warm in comparison. Armed with that information, we ordered a second mug of coffee and studied the road map, once again. The decision was Bendigo. Our travel consultants (the cafe staff) considered this a wiser and warmer choice. Gail was dragged away from the fire and the ride continued.

We rode through Ararat and Avoca, before arriving at Maryborough. We found a motel/caravan park opposite the golf club and booked a room. They gave us the disabled room, which confused us, but it was bigger than the norm. The caravan park was solely equipped with cabins and powered ensuite sites, not an amenities block in sight. Strange but not a bad idea. Aftee we booked in we realized it was on a train line, nothing like consistency.

The pizza we had delivered together with the beers went down really well. Its been 3 months since the last pizza, so no guilt was felt.

Lost in No-Mans-Land
Sporry guys I've been in the Internet dark zone for a week or so and just catching up with email. Funny to hear you shivering, it was 28 degeress at 10.30 this morning in Adels Grove at Lawn Hill. Glad you changed from Ballarat. No real loss there. I didn't enjoy it much. Hope the weather at least dries up for you if not get warmer.
