Did we say previously that it cost $18 for 6 beers. Anyway after a cold shower with a few trickles of water we decided to try and make the most of our stay.

On Monday we rode to Barmera and believe it or not, we found a bakery, (yes Mike, another one) They made an excellant coffee which charged us up for the next part of the morning. Feeling full of beans we rode to Waikerie, a really attractive rural town, not too big, but just nice. We left there and went through Cadell and returned to Morgan via the ferry.

Now, some of you may think that its no big deal, but it was Henry's first time goint down the ramp onto the ferry, his first overseas trip. It all went well until, the steep exit up off the ferry. Henry had a hiccup and decided to stall and have a little rest. Gail was overjoyed to practise her hill starts with a captive audience caught up behind her. I am sure the red headed Ferry Master went redder in the face at this delay....

The next day, we started off by riding on the ferry again, all boring this time. We rode to Blanchtown again, along a road less travelled. The scenery was again spectacular with the might murray curving along beside us. Once again we ended up at Waikarie and found their bakery quite easily. Its strange how you have to search for a service station, but the bakeries just jump out at you.

After tasting their fare, we caught another ferry across the murray and found another small road that ran off the Goyder (have you googled the goyder line yet?) Highway. We followed the river again and then returned to our sumptuous digs.

The reason we took the abovementioned backroads is, that it almost completes a journey we started in 2010, when we road from the Hume Weir along the Murray to Wentworth. We continued following the river last November up to near Barmera, so this completes another leg.

Henry needs a rest
It's a shame Henry keeps getting so tired. I bet there was big pressure on the hill start wit lots of people and the ferry master watching. I'm sure you did a professional job. I love the countryside down along the Murray. Doesn't sound like the accommodation is much good. You should see it up here. Everythong is relative, we see past the rust and other crap just because there is hot water. We reached the absolute tip of the cape today after an hour or so on very ordinary dirt roads and a few creek crossings. Stay safe.

Poor Henry
Hope poor Henry recovers and the hill start wasn't too distressing.
