Cold here too. Sounds like it wasn't hard to pick a highlight today. Still as they say you never never know if you never never go. It's cold here this week too. It's like someone turned autumn on overnight. Hope the weather comes good for you soon.
Catch the bus My suggestion would be check out the transport options ahead of time. Having said that, I like the sound of walking around the town's attractions. Maybe the bus was more appreciated late in the day. Your travelogue will be very helpful for my future travels. You sound like you are even having fun with the challenges.
Has it really been 5 weeks already? The weather sounds unbearable. It was cold up here this arvo and you can feel Autumn creeping into the mornings. Glad you treated yourself to a motel stay. I know what you mean about the neighbour and Bruce. I have a very old Elite and people always want to watch it go up and down, but rarely want to help. Stay well and ride safe.
Sac news Hi Gail and Eoin, glad to read that Heidi and Henry and you two survived the hot weather.
All's well in the Sac......Judy and Barry away next week......their chooks have departed to "chook heaven".......they should have tried harder to lay more eggs! Wendy and David in Canberra to view an Art exhibition. Debbie and Fred (our end) doing renos to the front of their house. Still have not met Brian No. 2........Bell OK but missing you.Your lawn and garden look great. Kerrie and Rob off to New Zealand during the school hols. Not much exciting news really! But we love to hear from you both!!! Cheers Gerda
Water water everywhere I'll take the 30 degree days over the rain we've been having lately. Last weekend 30 south coast Ulyssians headed to Narooma and the wasn't a dry bike in the place. We are now all stressing about the rain in Queensland as we head off to the Fraser Coast AGM in five weeks. No matter how many times you see the apostles they are always special.
Great Ocean Road Probably like you, I look at roads very differently now, even when driving the car. The good such as bends and curves and the bad such as potholes and gravel are all seen through the eyes of a bike rider. You may struggle for groceries, but you seem to be able to find a bakery everywhere you go.
Mobs Dick The fish I saw on Facebook certainly wasn't Moby Dick. So I don't think Green Peace will be after you any time soon. I always marvel when on the road, how quickly the weather can affect your moods. A short burst of rain can make you glum and gloomy, but just a single ray of sunshine can make you wonder what was wrong with you before. Where to next for you guys?
Looking good guys - don't forget to turn around before you get to Nullabor Station! Hope you are now getting some of this glorious weather, over 30 every day in Geelong for 8 days, am I back in W.A.?
GOR Have to agree with you about the road. Parts definitely need some work. Shame about the weather, but at least you got out for a while. Did you shop at Torquay. Got every brand of surf gear you can imagine there. Bells was a highlight for me last time there. Surfed there as a wild 19 year old and went back as a "mild hog" 37 years later. How perspectives and pastimes change.
Gee Geelong Looks like I missed most of the good parts of Geelong when I was there. Good job with the walking, the bike already has that big trailer to tow.
Better there than here The phot of the pavilion in the water is decidedly weird. It's quite a ferry you went on. Hope it stays good for you down there. We have 30 or so Ulyssians hunkered down for the night in motels at Narooma after a weekend away. It's pouring outside and forecast worse for the morning trip home. Keep up the blog.

Funny thing about Melbourne You know I have friends from Melbourne who love coming to Sydney because it' so modern and cosmopolitan. I feel the same as you about Melbourne. Maybe the other mans grass IS greener. Shame about the noisy campsite. We stayed in Geelong at either the Riverview or the Riverglen and really enjoyed it. Have to agree about Melbourne transport though, it smashes NSW.
The other Maryborough Sounds like the Victorian area you are in is beautiful. I have friends going caravaning in the grampians and around Victoria for the next three weeks and they have been very interested in what you have had to say about the joint in your blog. The South Coast Ulyssians are off to Narooma this weekend and planning our trip to the other Maryborough for the AGM in about 7 weeks. Keep up the blogging.
Hi from Ballina Sounds as though you are having a great time and seeing plenty of the Country.
So good to hear from you both and hope all goes well.
We will be away from Ballina from Wednesday next and going to our Daughters in Sydney. Will be returning home on the following Tuesday. Then I have to go to the Gold Coast to have my eye seen to. This will be my 3rd visit, however it is well worth it as it is so much better now.
Until next time. Regards Margaret & John.
Lovely high country The sight of the hippy on the Zimmer frame reminds me of Byron Bay although the towns sound much more enjoyable. The high country is always different but always fun. Those country bakeries can be gems or bombs. Sounds like you found a gem. On our trip to Mildura AGM through that area it started to feel like it was a tour of bakeries. Lots of fun, but eventually the bikes and belts complained.
Now I know When you said how long your trip would be, I wondered how you would fill that much time. With days full of fun and interesting adventures like today, now I know.
Keep enjoying and stay safe.
PS the blog is great, please keep it up.
Eoin rides 'Heidi' a BMW R1100 RT towing an Elite camper trailer named 'Bruce'
Gail rides 'Henry' a GT650S Hyosung.
We both love traveling around this wonderful country of ours.
