Saturday was windy and cold, consequently we spent most of the day in the camp kitchen, drinking cups of tea and hoping that the huge intake of fluids would make us heavy enough to not be blown to NZ with the gusts. Eoin tried fishing in the morning, but by the time he set the casting ring, the sinker was behind him.

Sunday dawned much nicer, clear blue skies, sunshine and a lightbreeze. After some morning housekeeping, we walked over to the harbour to try our luck. We had been fishing for about 15mins, when Gail caught her first ever fish. Unfortunately, it wasn't of a size suitable for the skillet, but she played it like a professional and bought it up to the wharf. Pleased as punch.Of course, photos were taken, and if you haven't yet, you can see them on facebook.

On Monday we took off to Cape Ottway Lighthouse, anothed great ride. We were warned about the abundance of koalas along the roadway and were not disappointed. They were everywhere and very close to the road and lower branches. We then went to the old telegraph station where we met 'Marcus' who was dressed in period clothing and gave us an interesting and very informative history lesson. Next was a climb up the lighthouse, all 78 stairs . Much to Eoin's disgcust the lighthouse has now been replaced by a tiny solar powered light beacon. Our next stop was the museum, and once again Marcus turned up in his costume and gave us a rendition of a discussion between the lighthouse keeper and his wife, Mary. He called for a volunteer from the four strong audience, Gail nominated Eoin and then did it herself as he was glued to his seat....The five minute presentation was scripted and Eoin videoed the entire performance. Those of you who know Gail, might suspect that she and Mary are in fact related. Those wishing to see the video, Eoin is open to offers. (over my dead body)

A great ride/day.

Mobs Dick
The fish I saw on Facebook certainly wasn't Moby Dick. So I don't think Green Peace will be after you any time soon. I always marvel when on the road, how quickly the weather can affect your moods. A short burst of rain can make you glum and gloomy, but just a single ray of sunshine can make you wonder what was wrong with you before. Where to next for you guys?
