Let's start with Stonehenge. I can't believe I can now cross that off of my bucket list! It was so pretty in person. And huge! The tour provides you with an hour at the site, which is waaaay more than enough time to take it in. You basically walk around and take pictures from every angle, and then walk through a teeny little gift shop. I met a new friend (Alec, from China) who literally walked up to the stones, took a picture, and then walked right back to drop-off point. The audio commentary was pretty dry compared to the two History Channel documentaries I had watched before my trip. Yes, two. I like to research what I am seeing. There is far too much history/speculation/controversy surrounding Stonehenge to include here. On the train back, I ... read more

Such a cute little town!! The countryside on the way here is incredible. I feel like I am in Harry Potter. It's rainy and foggy and SO GREEN! I bought my train ticket to Stonehenge and had some time before it left so I walked around the city a little bit. *Side note- Remember how I was so proud of all that I could fit in my "pack-pack"...? Well. Let me just tell you how amazing it feels to be carrying around 30ish pounds on your back plus 15ish on your arm. It's awful. I was near tears today just walking around with what soon begins to feels like an 80lb man on your back. Awesome. Back to the city. Salisbury is located about 2 hours outside of London in Wiltshire. It's divided into two areas: ... read more

Made it through Dallas with no soda/Cheeto catastrophies. And through a 9 hour flight with a gaggle of Turkish business men. Needless to say, I didn't sleep much- despite the 1/2 Ambien. I ended up just having strange dreams that one of the flight attendants woke me up to tell me to stop talking in my sleep. (I didn't really talk in my sleep... that I know of?). Now I am flying down the wrong side of the road on a bus to Salisbury for a Stonehenge tour. Can you believe I'm going to see Stonehenge?! I'm even an hour ahead of schedule. And the bus driver called me "love." So far, so good!... read more

On board my flight to Dallas. Wish I had time to stop in and see Kari Ensign. I'll wave to you from the airport, Kari! Scared out of my mind and so excited. Sat by a lady in the terminal that sang Happy Birthday to her dog-who then peed on some newspapers near where I was sitting. (The dog, not the lady.) Saw a family of foxes as we took off. and now looking over the clouds thinking about how I need to go skydiving again. The brave couple next to me is traveling to Paris with two kids under 2. My tray table is covered with 2 open cans of soda, 3 full glasses of water/soda, 2 bottles of formula, a couple tupperware bowls of Cheetos and Cheerios-- none of it mine-- and there are ... read more

Today I realized that I leave for my trip in three days. Today I realized that I have so many "last minute" things to do. Today I realized that I will be going alone. Like ALONE. Today I realized that I have probably been through tougher things in life than a solo adventure trip. Today I realized that I am so grateful for a job that allows me to travel and live a full life. Today I realized that I have an amazing family that is so supportive. Today I realized that this week I will also be saying farewell to my 23rd year. I will be 24 years old. Today I realized that I love the church and love being "different" than the world. Today I realized that I love my life.... read more
